Publikarya 2026 of the Public Administration Student Association, Rembang Campus: “Youth Rationality as the Compass for the Nation’s Future in the Era of Globalization”

The Public Administration Student Association (HMPS) of Rembang Campus, under the Department of Socio-Political Research and Achievement of  Universitas Diponegoro, once again organized Publikarya 2026 on Saturday (09/05) at the Plenary Hall of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Rembang Regency. This event served as an essay and debate competition attended by university students as well as senior high school/vocational high school students or their equivalents. Carrying the theme “Youth Rationality as the Compass for the Nation’s Future in the Era of Globalization,” Publikarya 2026 became a platform for young generations to sharpen their critical thinking skills, present innovative ideas, and enhance their argumentative abilities in facing the challenges of globalization.

The series of activities began with the opening of registration on April 20, 2026. The national essay competition for university students was conducted in two registration waves: Batch 1 from April 20–25, 2026, and Batch 2 from April 26–May 2, 2026. Meanwhile, the debate competition for senior high school/vocational high school students across Rembang Regency opened on April 23, 2026, and closed on May 3, 2026. The technical meeting was held on May 5, 2026, followed by the peak of the debate competition, which took place offline on May 9, 2026, at the Plenary Hall of the DPRD of Rembang Regency.

Publikarya 2026 featured a panel of judges consisting of academics and public administration practitioners, namely Renata Jati Nirmala, S.IAN., MPA; Satria Aji Imawan, S.I.P., MPA; and Irfan Murtadho Yusuf, S.A.P., MPM. The judges assessed participants’ works and argumentative abilities based on rationality, issue relevance, innovation of ideas, and analytical skills in addressing social issues in the era of globalization. Through this event, participants were encouraged to critically examine various social, political, educational, and technological developments occurring today, while also understanding their impacts on the nation’s future. Publikarya 2026 also served as a space for young people to channel ideas and creative solutions to Indonesia’s future development challenges.

The Chairperson of Publikarya 2026 emphasized that the event was not merely a competition, but also a medium for learning and intellectual development among the younger generation. “Publikarya 2026 is not only about competition, but also a space to build critical, rational, and solution-oriented mindsets. We hope this event will produce young generations who are courageous in expressing ideas and capable of becoming the compass for the nation’s future in the era of globalization,” he stated in his remarks on Saturday (09/05).

The winners were announced on May 9, 2026, after the completion of all event series. In the essay competition category, first place was awarded to Desi Niscawati, second place to Suci Aulia Febrianti, and third place to Zoe Christine Elsadai S. The winners received awards as appreciation for their critical thinking skills, creativity, and contributions of ideas through the essay and debate competitions. In the debate competition category, first place was won by SMA Negeri 1 Rembang Team B, second place by SMA Negeri 2 Rembang Team B, and third place by SMA Negeri 2 Rembang Team A.

Through Publikarya 2026, the Public Administration Student Association of Rembang Campus under the Department of Socio-Political Research and Achievement of Universitas Diponegoro once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the intellectual development of Indonesia’s younger generation so that they may become critical, rational, and competitive agents of change amidst the challenges of globalization
