ACHIEVING DREAMS THROUGH ACTION: FKMM FISIP UNDIP ORGANIZES “ANNISA TALK” ON WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

Semarang (05/03) – The Annisa Division of the Muslim Student Family Forum (FKMM) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, organized the “Annisa Talk” event. This initiative serves as a dedicated discussion space for female students to explore their personal potential while acting as a platform for the empowerment of Muslim women within the campus environment. The event featured the theme “Women, Dreams, and Leadership Spaces,” which encouraged participants to reflect on the strategic roles women play in society, embody courage in pursuing and realizing ambitious dreams, and cultivate leadership by evolving into influential and empowered Muslim leaders who contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The Annisa Talk event was held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the ICMI Orwil Central Java. The proceedings commenced with an opening by the master of ceremonies, followed by a recitation of the Al-Qur’an, and welcoming remarks from both the Event Chairperson and the Wamas’ul (Vice Chairperson) of FKMM FISIP UNDIP. The event then proceeded to the core session: a presentation on the theme “Women, Dreams, and Leadership Spaces.” This session was delivered by Khafidah Kurni Kova, an undergraduate student of Animal Science at Universitas Diponegoro.

The Annisa Talk event was attended by female students (akhwat) from various Islamic missionary organizations (Lembaga Dakwah) across Universitas Diponegoro. This session highlighted that the growth opportunities are now widely accessible to Muslim women. Despite the fact that women still frequently encounter the “too ambitious” stigma when pursuing higher education or a career, the event emphasized that dreams are a pathway to achieving honor and providing meaningful contributions to society.

Muslim women must adhere to the principle of being able to contribute wherever and whenever they are. Inspiring figures such as Rahmah El Yunusiyyah in the field of education and Nurhayati Subakat (Founder of Paragon Corp) in the business world serve as tangible evidence that women can be empowered without losing their core identity. Accordingly, it is essential to emphasize that women must maintain strong principles to safeguard their dignity (marwah) while simultaneously maximizing their potential. Every woman has the opportunity to serve as an exemplary representation of a Muslimah, both in the public sphere and in leadership roles.

Following the presentation session, the atmosphere became increasingly interactive during the Q&A session. Participants were allowed to ask questions regarding the material, which were then addressed directly by Ms. Kova. The agenda proceeded with a group discussion session to analyze case studies relevant to the event’s theme. Participants were divided into several groups to engage in critical and solution-oriented thinking, followed by a series of presentations. To conclude the event, a reflection session was held where participants were asked to write down their personal aspirations as women. This expression of hope served as a symbol of collective commitment to supporting one another in achieving their dreams and contributing to the broader sphere of leadership.
