Orderly Driving in the UNDIP Environment: These Are the Rules That All Academic Community Members Must Understand

Semarang – In order to create a safe, comfortable, and orderly campus environment, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), through Rector’s Circular Letter Number 15 of 2023, enforces traffic and driving regulations throughout the campus area. These rules apply to all members of the academic community, including lecturers, educational staff, students, and visitors.

“Let us work together to maintain security, safety, and order on the campus,” reads the message in the circular signed by the Rector of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., on June 6, 2023.

🚦 Mandatory Driving Regulations at UNDIP:

  • Mandatory to use a SNI (Indonesian National Standard) helmet for motorcycle riders, even for short distances.

  • Mandatory to carry complete vehicle documents (Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration Certificate) at all times.

  • Mandatory to park vehicles only in designated parking areas.

  • Maximum speed limit of 30 km/h for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, in accordance with Minister of Transportation Regulation Number PM 111 of 2015.

  • Mandatory to obey available traffic signs and road markings.

  • Mandatory to follow the traffic directions established by the university.

  • Prohibition on using non-standard exhaust pipes that cause noise and air pollution, as they can disrupt academic activities and collective comfort.

💡 Why Are These Rules Important?
The UNDIP campus is a shared space for learning, teaching, and activities. Traffic order is not just about compliance with rules; it is a form of concern for one’s own safety and the safety of others.

By obeying speed limits, using SNI helmets, and adhering to signs and designated routes, the academic community participates in realizing UNDIP as a safe and comfortable campus for everyone.

📢 Appeal from UNDIP:
Let’s drive orderly at UNDIP!

  • Use standard exhaust pipes to keep everyone comfortable.

  • Park in designated areas, not haphazardly.

  • Avoid reckless driving on campus grounds.

📌 Legal Basis:
Rector of UNDIP Circular Letter Number 15 of 2023 concerning Traffic and Driving Regulations within the Diponegoro University Environment.

Let us work together to create a UNDIP that is orderly, safe, and has a traffic culture.
