2025 Even Semester Aspiration Forum: Cultivating a More Responsive Academic Environment Through Open Dialogue

Semarang, May 6, 2025 — The Student Association of the Business Administration Study Program, through its Media, Information, and Communication Bureau under the Public Relations Division, has successfully conducted the “2025 Aspiration Forum.” This event served as an open dialogue platform between students and lecturers. Held in the PKM Hall of the FISIP Undip building, the forum was attended by 50 participants, including students, committee members, and lecturers from the Business Administration Study Program. This initiative was designed as a channel for conveying student aspirations and fostering transparency in academic policies, while also strengthening two-way communication between students and lecturers.

The event commenced at 1:00 PM Western Indonesia Time, beginning with an opening address by the Master of Ceremonies, followed by the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem and the Undip Mars. Subsequently, the forum was officially opened with welcoming remarks from the Head of the Business Administration Study Program and the Vice Chair of the Student Association (HMPS). Both speakers emphasized the importance of regular dialogue between students and lecturers in creating a more inclusive, adaptive, and student-needs-aligned academic atmosphere.

Moving into the main session, students were given the opportunity to voice their aspirations directly. Two students expressed concerns and issues regarding the learning process, ranging from the assignment and literacy systems, high workload, to coordination among lecturers in delivering course projects. In addition to direct input, the Master of Ceremonies also read a number of anonymous aspirations previously collected via Google Form, ensuring that students who were hesitant to speak up could still share their opinions. All expressed aspirations were addressed openly by the attending lecturers, including Reni, Sari, and Andi.

Lecturers’ responses included explanations on literacy and project-based learning standards, clarifications on curriculum policies, insights into the different teaching approaches of each lecturer, and evaluations regarding frequent class schedule changes that have been a challenge for students. The lecturers also elaborated on the importance of self-directed learning, competency development, and student readiness in facing modern, problem-solving, and project-based learning systems.

The forum proceeded in an interactive and conducive manner, providing students with space to ask further questions and gain clarity on issues that have long caused confusion. This activity was not merely a venue for voicing grievances but also served as a process of clarification and alignment of perspectives, helping students understand the rationale and background behind implemented academic policies.

Through the 2025 Aspiration Forum, students gained a more comprehensive understanding of the learning system within the Business Administration Study Program. Conversely, lecturers and academia received firsthand insight into the obstacles and learning experiences of students, which can serve as valuable considerations for future evaluations. This event demonstrated that open dialogue remains key to building a healthy and collaborative academic ecosystem.

The event concluded with a joint documentation session and a clean-up of the area by the organizing committee. The 2025 Aspiration Forum is hoped to be a valuable momentum for enhancing the quality of learning and strengthening the positive relationship between students and lecturers. Through open and responsive communication, this initiative represents a concrete step toward driving positive change within the environment of the Business Administration Study Program, FISIP Undip. With forums such as this, students are expected to become increasingly confident in expressing their aspirations, while the lecturers are further encouraged to continuously innovate and improve the quality of instruction.
