SEMARANG – In the framework of the 67th Anniversary, Diponegoro University held a Fun Walk with the theme “UNDIP Bergerak untuk Kampus Sehat: Kontribusi Nyata Mencapai Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan” at Muladi Dome, Undip Tembalang Campus, Saturday (19/10/2024). This event is the peak and marks the closing of a series of other events held for one week. Approximately 10,000 participants, including students, lecturers, staff, undip alumni, and the general public, gathered to take a leisurely walk from the Muladi Dome gate to return to Muladi Dome.
Before the Fun Walk began, the Rector of Diponegoro University, along with other guests, simultaneously released 67 pigeons to symbolize that the event had begun. The number of birds signifies the age of Undip, which has now entered its 67th year.
The Fun Walk route is quite challenging due to the topographical conditions around Undip, which are indeed up and down. Specifically, participants must gather at Muladi Dome, walk towards the UPT K3L Building, go to the Jamu Laboratory intersection to take door prize coupons and snacks, then continue towards the Vocational School Building to enter the door prize coupon and return to Muladi Dome.
Participants were also spoiled by various guest stars who enlivened the Diponegoro University 67th Anniversary Fun Walk event. For example, the band from Fisip, Sakutala, won the band competition between faculties throughout Diponegoro University, and the You Want Know Band from Fisip, which consists of lecturers and staff of Fisip. The event became more lively when the participants danced to the front of the stage accompanied by dangdut music.
MSMEs assisted by Diponegoro University also participated in opening food tenants during the event. A total of 42 tenants were filled with various food and drinks, from traditional to contemporary. There was also a Waste Awareness Booth where participants could exchange recycled waste for eggs as a form of waste recycling campaign and love for the environment. This is Undip’s commitment to maintaining sustainability and becoming a healthy campus as the theme of this year’s Fun Walk.
Prof. Suharnomo also conveyed the purpose of this Fun Walk event as a form of UNDIP campus solidarity and is expected to be an effort to maintain a harmonious situation, stay in harmony, and become a moment of Undip’s awakening to be more dignified and valuable.
