Semarang, (18/03) – As one of the dreams for many students in Indonesia, studying abroad is a remarkable achievement. Not only does it broaden academic horizons, but it also provides invaluable life experiences. Recently, one of the students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), Hanun, shared her story.

Her full name is Nabila Hanun Nurrizky Fitria, commonly known as Hanun, is a member of the 2021 cohort of the bachelor of Communication Science at FISIP Undip. With unwavering enthusiasm and support from her lecturers and family, Hanun successfully seized the opportunity to participate in a student exchange program at one of the prestigious universities in South Korea, Chung-Ang University.

Chung-Ang University itself is a globally renowned private campus. It is the alma mater of many scholars and artists from the land of ginseng. From the South Korean entertainment industry, names like Kim Soo-hyun, Park Shin-hye, who played Captain Ri in the drama Crash Landing on You, Hyun Bin, and Im Soo-hyang, who portrayed Kang Mi Rae in Gangnam Beauty, are alumni of this prestigious university.

Hanun revealed that she was able to join the Student Exchange program and pursue her studies at Chung-Ang University, South Korea because she enrolled in the IUP program at FISIP Undip. IUP, or the International Undergraduate Program, is a special class designed for both international and domestic students aimed at producing globally competitive graduates.

Classes in this international program use English as the medium of instruction, preparing students for international experiences. Additionally, students in the IUP class at FISIP Undip are required to participate in Student Exchange, allowing them to study for one semester at a selected foreign university. In this program, the courses taken by FISIP Undip IUP students abroad will be converted into credits in Indonesia, thus automatically recorded in their academic transcripts.

Hanun expressed that there were many impressive experiences during her Student Exchange at Chung-Ang University, South Korea. From joining the Art Club, enlivening the Indonesian Festival, to participating in managing a Global Fair. Hanun also experienced new things like the Real Life Experience of K-Culture and enjoyed the Dormitory Trip.

“Of course, the whole 5 months was really life-changing for me because when else could I explore a big city alone and also get the chance to enhance my knowledge, grow connections, and learn new cultures with a lot of students here,” said Hanun.

In addition to these, Hanun mentioned that she felt comfortable with the study environment at Chung-Ang University because students in South Korea were highly ambitious. This motivated Hanun to have the same study spirit as them. “Overall, I Really Love my CTS Journey, If I could have two words for it, Super Amazing,” Hanun concluded the conversation.

Through her experience, Hanun reminds us all that education is the best investment we can give to ourselves. By seizing every opportunity and daring to face challenges, we can all achieve our dreams, including obtaining education abroad. May Hanun’s success inspire many young generations of Indonesia to come.
