Semarang, 26 October 2026 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), welcomed Dr. Atin Prabandari, a scholar from the Department of International Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), as part of the 2026 Domestic Postdoctoral Program under Diponegoro University’s World Class University (WCU) scheme.
The visit began with an audience with FISIP UNDIP’s leadership as part of efforts to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. The program was facilitated by the Department of International Relations, FISIP UNDIP, particularly through the Research Group on International Law, Transnational Crimes, and Global Diplomatic Politics, chaired by Prof. Ika Riswanti Putranti.
During her one-week visit, beginning on 19 October 2026, Dr. Atin participated in various academic activities with faculty members and students, including research discussions, academic article-writing mentoring, and guest lectures entitled “Who Gets to Define Protection?” and “Gendering the Politics of Peace.” These activities provided a platform for discussions on the politics of protection, gender, and peace within the field of International Relations.
Dr. Atin Prabandari’s presence also served as an opportunity to strengthen the research ecosystem within the Department of International Relations, FISIP UNDIP. Through direct engagement with scholars from different universities, faculty members and students gained opportunities to broaden their theoretical perspectives, sharpen their analytical skills, and develop research approaches relevant to contemporary global issues. This exchange of ideas is expected to encourage collaborative research that contributes not only to the development of International Relations scholarship but also to a deeper understanding of international policy dynamics and practices.
In addition to fostering knowledge exchange, the program aims to produce two collaborative scholarly articles for submission to reputable Scopus-indexed international journals. This collaboration is expected to enhance the quality of research and academic publications while expanding the academic network between FISIP UNDIP and UGM in a sustainable manner.
The Domestic Postdoctoral Program under the WCU scheme represents a strategic initiative by FISIP UNDIP to establish sustainable academic collaboration. The partnership between FISIP UNDIP and UGM is expected to extend beyond the program itself and develop into long-term cooperation through joint research, academic publications, academic exchanges, and the development of teaching and learning activities. This initiative also supports UNDIP’s commitment to improving the quality of education and research while strengthening its academic competitiveness at both national and international levels.
