The Sakutala Activity Implementation Unit (UPK Sakutala) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro is a student activity unit focused on music. Through its flagship program, Sakutala Charity, the organization has demonstrated that artistic expression and social compassion can go hand in hand. Held on May 9, 2026, under the theme “Listening and Caring,” the event took place at the Manarul Mabrur Orphanage and provided a space for both Sakutala members and the broader community to channel their support toward those in need—particularly school-aged children residing at the orphanage.
The pre-event activities for Sakutala Charity ran from April 26 to May 2, 2026, during which the team conducted a donation drive at the Sikatak Car-Free Day (CFD) area in Tembalang. To attract public attention and engagement, Sakutala performed live music throughout the fundraising sessions. This approach not only drew interest from passersby but also successfully captured the attention of individuals beyond the FISIP academic community, broadening the reach and impact of the charitable initiative.
The main event of Sakutala Charity consisted of a direct visit to the Manarul Mabrur Orphanage, where the team engaged in bonding activities with the children through a series of interactive games carefully prepared by the committee. The session was attended by orphanage residents ranging from 3 to 16 years of age, fostering a warm and joyful atmosphere of togetherness. Following the bonding session, the event concluded with a documentation session and a formal closing ceremony led by the Master of Ceremony.
Through a meaningful combination of fundraising efforts, musical performances, and direct engagement with the children at Manarul Mabrur, UPK Sakutala FISIP Universitas Diponegoro has proven that it offers more than just entertainment—it cultivates values of empathy, unity, and social solidarity. With the successful execution of Sakutala Charity, it is hoped that the spirit of giving and social awareness will continue to flourish, inspiring students and the wider community to actively participate in humanitarian endeavors in the years to come.
