Semarang, (18/04). As a student organization continuously committed to quality development, HMPS Public Administration recognizes the importance of evaluation and cross-institutional learning. Through this benchmarking activity, the board of HMPS AP UNDIP had the opportunity to study, compare, and evaluate organizational performance and work practices to foster a more effective, efficient, and high-quality governance system.
The Public Administration Study Program Student Association of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University (HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP) successfully held a Benchmarking activity with the Public Administration Student Association of Yogyakarta State University (Visigara HIMA AP UNY) on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Initiated by the External Relations Department of HMPS AP UNDIP, the event took place vibrantly at the FIMENA Auditorium, Building A, 3rd Floor, FISIP UNDIP. It was attended by 101 participants, consisting of 95 members of HMPS AP UNDIP and the delegation from Visigara HIMA AP UNY.
The event officially commenced at 1:00 PM WIB with a collective rendition of the national anthem Indonesia Raya, the UNDIP Hymn, and the UNY Hymn. A sense of enthusiasm and camaraderie was palpable from the very beginning. The opening session continued with a series of welcoming remarks and progress reports delivered by the Chairpersons of the 2026 Benchmarking 1 from both parties—starting with the Chairperson from HMPS AP UNDIP, followed by the Chairperson of the Comparative Study from HIMA AP UNY. These were followed by speeches from the Chairperson of HMPS AP UNDIP, the Chairperson of HIMA AP UNY, as well as the Faculty Advisors from both HMPS AP UNDIP and HIMA AP UNY.
The event proceeded with a presentation and sharing session regarding the work programs of both associations. HMPS AP UNDIP presented various flagship programs from each department, covering work systems, coordination patterns, and program implementation mechanisms. This was followed by an equally engaging presentation from the Visigara HIMA AP UNY delegation, which brought fresh perspectives and innovations that enriched the insights of all participants. From this session, both parties successfully identified various relevant organizational practices to serve as material for future development.
The atmosphere grew even warmer during the games and ice-breaking session, which strengthened the bond between participants from both universities. Afterward, the activity continued with the presentation of plaques and certificates as a token of appreciation for the event—a moment that served as a concrete symbol of the official institutional relationship established between HMPS AP UNDIP and Visigara HIMA AP UNY.

Closing the entire series of events, both associations held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to dive deeper into leadership dynamics, challenges in work program implementation, and the specific approaches used by each organization to maintain effectiveness. Following the FGD, the Visigara HIMA AP UNY delegation was invited on a campus tour—a relaxed session that introduced the atmosphere and facilities of Diponegoro University, while ending the day with warm camaraderie among the members of both associations.
With its range of informative, interactive, and collaborative activities, the 2026 Benchmarking HMPS AP UNDIP X Visigara HIMA AP UNY successfully achieved its objectives. This event not only broadened horizons and enriched organizational development references but also successfully strengthened the institutional ties between the Public Administration Student Association of FISIP UNDIP and the Public Administration Student Association of Yogyakarta State University. It is hoped that the synergy established here will continue to be nurtured and yield a positive impact on the future development of both organizations.
