Semarang – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Diponegoro (FISIP UNDIP) has achieved a historic milestone by breaking into the world’s top 400 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for the field of Social Sciences and Management.

In the latest release, FISIP UNDIP improved its position from the #501–550 band in the previous year to #451–500 globally. This marks the highest ranking ever attained by the faculty since its establishment in 1969 and represents a significant leap in global recognition of its academic quality, research output, and scholarly contributions.

The Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., expressed gratitude and appreciation to the entire academic community for their collective contributions. According to him, this achievement is the result of the dedication and hard work of faculty members, students, administrative staff, and alumni who have consistently supported the development of academic programs, research, and community engagement initiatives.

“This achievement proves that FISIP UNDIP is capable of competing on the global stage. We extend our sincere appreciation to all lecturers, students, staff, and alumni whose contributions have enabled the faculty to reach its best position to date,” he stated.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluates higher education institutions based on several key indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, and international research networks. The improvement in FISIP UNDIP’s ranking reflects notable progress across these indicators, particularly in research productivity and global academic collaboration.

This accomplishment aligns with FISIP UNDIP’s vision of becoming a world-class faculty that excels in the advancement of social and political sciences while contributing to national and international development. Moving forward, the faculty remains committed to enhancing the quality of education, expanding international partnerships, and increasing high-impact scholarly publications as part of its strategy to strengthen its global standing.
