FISIP UNDIP, Semarang — FISIP, Universitas Diponegoro students have once again achieved a proud accomplishment. Two undergraduate students from the Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro, Mutiara Rahmisya Amalia and Aurelia Berlian Wahyu Pratiwi, won First Place in the CHEMISTRY FESTIVAL Business Plan Competition 2026, organized by Hasanuddin University in Makassar from 13 to 16 February 2026.
This achievement demonstrates that UNDIP students, including those from the social sciences and humanities, are capable of excelling in multidisciplinary competitions through innovative ideas, strong analytical skills, and competitiveness at the national level. Their success also shows that Communication Science students of FISIP UNDIP are not only academically accomplished, but also able to offer creative solutions that respond to contemporary challenges.
Previously, on 3 February 2026, Mutiara and Aurelia received the announcement that they had been selected as finalists in the Business Plan Competition and were invited to attend the advanced judging stage in Makassar. With full support from FISIP UNDIP, the two departed for Makassar via Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) on Thursday, 12 February 2026, at 10:00 a.m. In this journey, Mutiara and Aurelia represented UNDIP as a team in the national competition. Upon arriving in Makassar, they immediately took time to rest while preparing themselves for the series of competition events that began the following day.
On the day of the competition, Mutiara and Aurelia presented their business idea before the panel of judges and competed against finalists from various universities across Indonesia. The competition was certainly not easy, considering that each participating team came from universities with equally impressive records of achievement. However, through hard work, thorough preparation, and prayer, the two succeeded in convincing the judges and ultimately won First Place in the competition.
CHEMISTRY FESTIVAL 2026 was organized as a platform for students to channel their creative ideas, innovation, and analytical abilities. This event carried the theme, “Accelerating the Role of the Young Generation in Strengthening Sustainable Chemistry-Based Industrial Downstreaming in the Transition Era toward Industrial Revolution 5.0.” Through this competition, participants were encouraged to develop their creativity, broaden their perspectives, and build academic networks among students and institutions from various regions of Indonesia.
The achievement earned by Mutiara and Aurelia is expected to inspire other students to continue developing their potential, compete with confidence, and bring honor to Universitas Diponegoro in various national academic competitions. This accomplishment also further strengthens UNDIP’s commitment to nurturing an excellent, adaptive, and competitive young generation. (WNIS)
