The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Diponegoro University continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening the internationalization of higher education by welcoming international students through various academic programs. In the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, FISIP Undip received ten international students from three countries—Vietnam, Russia, and Germany—through the Diponegoro Exchange Experience Program (DEEP) student exchange program. These students attend lectures within the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Business Administration while simultaneously gaining academic and cultural experiences in the city of Semarang.

The presence of these international students enriches the academic atmosphere at FISIP Undip. Besides participating in lectures in international classes, the students also interact with local students, learn about Indonesia’s socio-cultural dynamics, and expand their academic and global networks. The DEEP program serves as one of the strategic initiatives to strengthen cross-country educational collaboration and support the creation of an increasingly inclusive and globally oriented learning environment.

The commitment to internationalization is also reflected in the organization of the 2026 International Students Gathering: The Orange Harbor, held at the Fimena Auditorium on Friday, February 27, 2026. This event was attended by dozens of international students currently pursuing studies at FISIP Undip through various international programs, including IUP and DEEP. The event served as a platform to strengthen interaction among students from various countries, while also reinforcing cross-cultural networks within the academic environment.

The Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, emphasized that the presence of international students is an important part of the faculty’s efforts to strengthen its position at the global level. According to him, FISIP Undip is not only striving to send students to study abroad but is also continuously developing as a study destination for students from various countries. “The ultimate goal is to make the faculty’s vision and mission a world reference. One of the indicators of a world-class faculty is the number of foreign students studying here and a teaching system with international standards.”

One student from Vietnam, Le Hoang Vy, shared her experiences while studying in Semarang. The student from Ho Chi Minh University of Banking expressed that Indonesia is an interesting country with rich cultural diversity. She also felt it was easier to adapt because some local cuisine resembles food in her home country.

The strengthening of internationalization within FISIP Undip is also supported by the organization of international classes and the competence of lecturers who have global educational experience. The faculty also provides mentors for international students to help with the academic and socio-cultural adaptation process during their studies. Going forward, FISIP Undip is committed to continuously expanding international cooperation and improving the quality of globally standard learning to support the realization of a superior and internationally competitive higher education ecosystem.
