Semarang, February 27, 2026 – In the spirit of social concern and strengthening humanitarian values, the management of the Darul Ilmi Mosque Committee FISIP UNDIP organized a Visit and Donation activity to the Al-Rifdah Disability Orphanage. This activity is part of a series of socio-religious programs aimed at fostering solidarity and concern for others, especially for children with disabilities who need attention and collective support.

The activity began with a departure ceremony for the aid from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University, before it was subsequently distributed to the orphanage. The aid provided consisted of basic necessities, food items, and various other forms of support expected to help meet the daily needs of the orphanage residents. On this occasion, the management of the Darul Ilmi Mosque Committee stated that this activity is a tangible manifestation of the values of social concern that are continuously cultivated within the academic community. The campus mosque functions not only as a place of worship but also as a center for social activities that encourages the emergence of humanitarian actions and solidarity towards community groups in need.

“This visit and donation activity is part of our effort to expand the role of the campus mosque as a space for social service. We hope the aid distributed can provide benefits and bring happiness to the children at the orphanage,” said one of the management members of the Darul Ilmi Mosque Committee FISIP UNDIP.

The visit to the Al-Rifdah Disability Orphanage also served as a moment for silaturahmi (friendship ties) between the Mosque Committee management and the orphanage’s administrators and children. A warm and intimate atmosphere was felt throughout the activity, where participants not only handed over aid but also engaged in dialogue, shared stories, and provided moral support to the orphanage residents.

This activity simultaneously serves as a reflection on the importance of building social awareness within the academic community. Amidst the busyness of academic activities, concern for vulnerable groups must remain a highly upheld value by the campus community. Through this activity, the Darul Ilmi Mosque Committee FISIP UNDIP hopes to continue encouraging the spirit of sharing and strengthening the mosque’s role as a center for socio-community activities. In the future, similar activities are expected to be carried out sustainably by involving more elements of students, lecturers, and the wider community.

The spirit of togetherness and concern fostered in this activity serves as a reminder that humanitarian values and social solidarity are an essential part of shaping the character of the academic community, which is not only intellectually excellent but also possesses social sensitivity and empathy towards others.
