From November 12–15, 2025, our team, Snugsy Nest, proudly secured a Gold Medal at the International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF) held in Bali, Indonesia. This global competition brought together innovators from around the world to showcase creative ideas and socially impactful solutions. This achievement marks a significant milestone in our journey toward building a more inclusive educational ecosystem in Indonesia.

Snugsy Nest is a digital platform for inclusive education, designed as a comprehensive information hub for parents, educators, and professionals working with children with special needs. The platform provides a verified service directory, educational learning resources, and accessibility features to assist families in finding suitable schools, therapists, or psychologists. Through a research-based and user-centered design approach, Snugsy Nest addresses key challenges faced by parents, such as inconsistent information, limited access to services, and a lack of professional support. The primary issues we identified are the information gap and the scarcity of structured, inclusive services in Indonesia. Based on survey results and data analysis, many parents still rely on informal instant messaging groups or unverified information. Snugsy Nest was created to offer a trustworthy, easily accessible, and relevant platform for families across various regions.

Snugsy Nest was developed by four students from Universitas Diponegoro: Ainun Rahimah Iskandar (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Nazwa Awalia (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Rifki Ibrahim (Faculty of Psychology), and Muhammad Rafi (Faculty of Economics and Business). This multidisciplinary background enabled us to design a solution that is not only technologically sound but also socially, psychologically, and economically robust.

The development of Snugsy Nest, based in Semarang, was grounded in research conducted throughout 2024–2025, including literature reviews, national data collection, and surveys of parents with special-needs children in Semarang and surrounding areas. The initial prototype was then tested and validated by parents, educators, and experts in the fields of education, psychology, and information technology.

The ISIF 2025 Gold Medal is a recognition of the urgency and potential of Snugsy Nest in supporting inclusive education in Indonesia. This accomplishment is not only a source of pride for our team but also reinforces our commitment to further develop the platform through extended pilot testing, feature enhancements, and collaboration with various stakeholders. Through Snugsy Nest, we aspire to serve as a bridge between families, schools, and professionals, fostering an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all children.
