The FISIP Joyful Mind Unite 2025 event was successfully organized by the Advocacy and Student Welfare Division of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro, on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Held at the Red Paved area behind Building B and the FISIP Parking Lot Corridor, the event served as a platform to raise student awareness about the importance of mental health through simple steps, while also creating a safe space for sharing and mutual support.

Under the theme “Nurturing the Heart, Managing Emotions, and Expressing Oneself,” the event commenced with participant registration, an opening by the MC, and remarks from the Project Chairman and the Chair of the Advocacy and Student Welfare Division of BEM FISIP.

The main agenda featured a workshop titled “Seek Peace From Mindfulness,” which welcomed M. Danu Nofiandi (Head of the Strategic Study and Action Division at the BEM of Undip’s Faculty of Psychology) as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, Danu elaborated on the importance of recognizing and accepting all feelings, both positive and negative, as an initial step in maintaining mental well-being. He emphasized that feelings such as anxiety, emptiness, and fatigue are valid and need to be managed through self-awareness and positive affirmations.

Furthermore, participants were introduced to the concept of mindfulness—the ability to focus on oneself and be fully present in the current moment without judgment. During a practical session, participants were guided through simple breathing exercises and a clay therapy activity, serving as an enjoyable and calming medium for self-expression. The session continued with an interactive Q&A. The first question from a participant highlighted how to deal with morning anxiety. Danu responded by stressing the importance of identifying the root cause of such feelings and establishing small, positive routines to structure the day. A second question regarding the consistency of mindfulness practice was answered with the explanation that mindfulness can be integrated into daily activities—such as while walking, eating, or studying—and is not limited to dedicated sessions.

Following the workshop and Q&A, participants were directed to the FISIP Parking Lot Corridor for a handprint activity and the distribution of 100 flower stems. This activity served as a powerful symbol of care and support for mental health issues within the campus environment.

Overall, FISIP Joyful Mind Unite 2025 proceeded smoothly, proving to be an interactive and enthusiastic event. It successfully heightened student awareness on the significance of mental health, provided practical knowledge on mindfulness, and fostered a safe, inclusive space for expression. Through this initiative, it is hoped that a collective sense of care will continue to grow within the FISIP Undip community, encouraging everyone to support each other’s mental well-being.
