The FISIP Company Tour (FCT) 2025, organized by the Student Advocacy and Welfare Division (Advokesma) of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FISIP Undip 2025, was held on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Taking place at the Oemah Herborist Beauty Factory Outlet, the event carried the theme “Tips for Embracing a Career: Preparing Provisions for a Golden Indonesia 2045.”
The participants, consisting of FISIP students, departed at 09:14 AM from FISIP Undip by bus and car, arriving at approximately 09:49 AM. They then engaged in a series of activities until 01:45 PM. The primary objectives of this initiative were to provide students with practical learning experiences in a real-world work environment, specifically within the cosmetics industry, and to broaden their insights into production processes, quality management, innovation, as well as internship and job opportunities.
The program commenced with registration, a briefing, and the journey, followed by a welcome from the Oemah Herborist team. Participants were invited on a comprehensive factory tour, which included visits to the production area and the Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL), a museum tour, and watching the company profile in a mini-theater. Subsequently, opening remarks were delivered by the Chair of the Organizing Committee, the Chair of BEM FISIP, and the Accompanying Lecturer.
The highlight of the event was a 13-minute sharing and Q&A session featuring three students and Iik Kusuma Adhi, Assistant Marketing Manager of Oemah Herborist. The discussion covered topics such as community empowerment in production, strategies for maintaining company stability, and available job vacancies. Student questions focused on Herborist’s role in community empowerment, its strategy for maintaining stability amidst market competition, and job prospects for graduates. The company’s responses emphasized the critical importance of innovation, marketing strategies, and leveraging social media as tools for business development, simultaneously highlighting these as opportunities for students to build their professional reputations.
Through this combination of field practice, discussion, and direct interaction with industry professionals, the activity successfully fostered greater enthusiasm and readiness among students to face the challenges of the professional world. The event concluded with a product demonstration, a shopping session at the outlet, and the return journey, arriving back at FISIP Undip by 01:45 PM Western Indonesia Time.
Through this initiative, students gained direct answers from practitioners, practical knowledge about the cosmetics industry, hands-on field experience, and valuable insights into career and business prospects. Furthermore, this activity served as a platform for equipping students for their transition into the workforce and can also function as an academic reference for final assignments or research projects.
