Semarang (9/29) – Higher education accreditation is a crucial instrument in ensuring the quality of higher education in Indonesia. The accreditation process serves not only as a formal evaluation of educational implementation but also reflects an institution’s commitment to continuously and sustainably enhance academic quality. In this context, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) carried out the Accreditation Site Visit by the National Higher Education Accreditation Board (BAN-PT) for the Bachelor’s Program in International Relations on Monday, September 29, 2025, in the Senate Meeting Room, Building A, 2nd Floor, at the FISIP Undip Campus in Tembalang.
This Assessment aims for the “Unggul” (Excellent) Accreditation rating for the Bachelor’s Program in International Relations. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chair of the Undip Educational Quality Assurance and Development Institute (LP2MP), Prof. Anis Chairi, S.E., M.Com., Ph.D., Akt., who represented the Rector of Undip, as well as two assessors from BAN-PT, namely Suyani Indriastuti, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D. and Dr. Drs. R. Dudy Heryadi, M.Si.
In his address, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., emphasized that this moment is a crucial point of reflection for the International Relations Bachelor’s Program in reaffirming its commitment to sustainable quality. “We hope this assessment will not merely be an evaluation process, but also a means to gain constructive input, suggestions, and invaluable learning for us,” he stated. Furthermore, he also mentioned that internationalization efforts through cooperation with partner universities abroad, enhancing the quality of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, and strengthening international research and publications through the World Class University (WCU) initiative and Academic Expertise Cluster (KBK) are manifestations of FISIP Undip’s commitment to addressing challenges in the era of globalization and world geopolitical developments.
Meanwhile, the Chair of LP2MP Undip, Prof. Anis Chairi, in his speech, expressed his hope that this assessment process would provide an honest and constructive evaluation. “This accreditation is a form of our accountability to the public and serves as a benchmark in our continuous efforts to improve the quality of education,” he explained. He added that Undip is consistently committed to continually enhancing the quality of education to be able to address the needs and challenges of the times.
Through the implementation of this assessment, the International Relations Bachelor’s Program at FISIP Undip hopes to achieve the best possible results, while also leveraging the process as a strategic momentum to strengthen the quality of education, research, and community service, in line with realizing Undip’s vision of becoming a leading research university at both the national and international levels.***
