Semarang, March 19, 2025 – The Public Relations Division (HuMas) of the Social Care Student Association (HIMPS) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University, successfully held the Sharing Is Caring (SIC) HIMPS 2025 event. The activity took place at SOS Children’s Village Orphanage, Banyumanik, Semarang City, as a form of student social concern for the community, especially for children in orphanages.

The Sharing Is Caring (SIC) HIMPS program is one of the annual agendas of the Public Relations Division, focusing on charitable activities during the month of Ramadan. This year, SIC 2025 carried the spirit of togetherness with the main goals of fostering social awareness, strengthening the bond among HIMPS members, and building connections with the community through food-sharing activities, collective iftar (breaking the fast), and positive interactions with children at the orphanage.

The series of SIC 2025 events began with a gathering point at Taman Tirto for HIMPS members. Before departure, a joint prayer and a brief technical rundown of the event were conducted. The group then continued their journey to SOS Children’s Village Orphanage in Banyumanik with a shared spirit of enthusiasm. Upon arrival, the event commenced with welcoming remarks from the organizing committee and a representative from the orphanage. A warm atmosphere was built through a storytelling session specially prepared for the children, aiming to broaden their knowledge while providing educational entertainment. In addition, the activity was enlivened by various interactive games, which brought joy and excitement as everyone waited for the iftar time.

As the call to Maghrib prayer approached, all participants gathered to break their fast together with the meals that had been prepared. The sense of togetherness grew warmer as HIMPS members, the children, and the orphanage staff sat side by side in a familial atmosphere. After the iftar, the event continued with congregational Maghrib prayer for those observing it.

To conclude the event, a group photo session was held with all attending HIMPS members, the children, and the orphanage staff. This moment served as a symbol of togetherness as well as a cherished memory from the successful implementation of SIC HIMPS 2025.

Through the execution of the Sharing Is Caring (SIC) HIMPS 2025 program, it is hoped that the positive impact will be felt not only by the children at the orphanage but also by all HIMPS members involved. This activity serves as a reminder of the importance of spreading kindness, maintaining social awareness, and strengthening the bonds of solidarity among one another.
