FISIP Undip Summer Course Program 2024: Sharpening Quantitative Data Analysis Skills for Social Sciences

Semarang (06/20) – Understanding and applying quantitative methods and analysis are crucial aspects of non-economic social sciences, such as political science, communication, public administration, business administration, and international relations. With strong quantitative data analysis skills, researchers can produce more accurate, valid, and relevant research to address various complex social challenges. Considering its importance, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) is holding the 2024 Summer Course Program titled “Introduction to Quantitative Data Analysis for Social Science.” This intensive five-day program is designed to equip students with essential skills in quantitative data analysis within the context of social science disciplines.

The 2024 FISIP Undip Summer Course is conducted online starting Thursday, June 20, 2024, and will conclude on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The program features nine speakers from both domestic and international institutions. During the opening of the 2024 FISIP Undip Summer Course on Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol. Admin, welcomed all participants and speakers. He expressed his hope that this program would be beneficial for the participants, enhancing their knowledge and providing greater benefits to society.

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to common statistical techniques and tools in social science research, from data collection to interpretation. Designed primarily for undergraduate students, the program is also open to graduate students, researchers, and professionals within FISIP disciplines. The program’s main focus is on the use of macro panel data studies, with speakers delivering lectures based on their published research, providing participants with hands-on experience.

Through this program, participants are expected to improve their analytical skills and apply this knowledge in their respective research, thereby making meaningful contributions to the advancement of social sciences and society as a whole.
