Universitas Diponegoro – Semarang. To encourage students to be engaged in entrepreneurship and as an effort to improve the entrepreneurial ecosystem of higher education, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held the Socialization of the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) in 2023 on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 08.00 GMT+7 at Prof. Soedarto Building, S.H. Undip Tembalang campus.

The event was officially opened by Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. In his remarks, Prof. Faisal stated that entrepreneurship was the prevailing business sector during the recession. One of the successes of Higher Education was to produce great entrepreneurs.

“This program is very good. As college graduates, students can choose their passion, one of which is to be a successful entrepreneur,” said Prof. Faisal.

He hoped that in this activity, students, through the guidance of the PICs and assisting lecturers, would be able to capture potentials that could have great prospects to be funded. With relatively limited funding, at least students can provide provisions for the development of subsequent businesses.

In his report, Vice Director of the Directorate of Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni Dr. Nuswantoro Dwiwarno, S.H., M.H. explained that this socialization activity was a continuation of the roadshow activities a few days ago in the faculties, along with PKM and Ormawa activities. “P2MW is organized in order to activate and develop students’ passion for entrepreneurship. Therefore, it is important to have active socialization. The outcome of this activity will be the UKM Expo,” he explained.

The P2MW Socialization Activity in 2023 will boost student passion for entrepreneurship through guidance from lecturers and direction from P2MW PIC. “This activity was attended by approximately 200 people. It is hoped that both lecturers and students can collaborate to create ideas related to entrepreneurship that will be accommodated in the Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW). We are not starting from scratch for P2MW, but a follow-up to PMW. PMW will be a program from Undip. In the previous report, there were approximately 50 to 60 students funded by us. This PMW will raise several entrepreneurial prototypes that will be upgraded to P2MW. It is like the first step towards P2MW,” said Nuswantoro.

The activity, which was moderated by Anis Qomariah, S.A.B., M.Ling., a lecturer at the Undip Faculty of Social and Political Sciences as well as the PMW PIC, was continued with the presentation regarding the Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) by the speakers. The first speaker was Narulita Santi, S.T., M.Eng. , a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering Undip and P2MW PIC who presented material on the Systematics of Writing Proposals for the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) of 2023.

Furthermore, Anjani Tri Fatharini, S.IP., M.A. who was a lecturer at the Undip Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, presented material on the Systematic Registration of Proposals for the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) of 2023.

P2MW is a business development program for students who already have their own businesses through development and coaching funds by providing business assistance and training (coaching) to P2MW trainees. Universities are expected to design an entrepreneurial coaching process that is oriented towards innovative, impactful, and sustainable character development.

Universities are encouraged to develop entrepreneurship training programs, network with the World of Business and Industry (DUDI) and create a conducive ecosystem for the development of experiential learning-based entrepreneurship. (Dhany/Gabriela-PR)
