Reporting from the Scimago Institution Rankings (SIR) website and the official Instagram account of the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) on (24/04/2021) which published the press release from the Scimago Institution Rankings (SIR) containing the best campuses in “Research, Innovation, and Societal Impact ”. From a row of the 20 best campuses in Indonesia, Universitas Diponegoro was in the 8th position. This achievement had further stabilized Undip as an excellent research university.
Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama SH MHum, admitted that he was grateful for Undip’s achievements in the Scimago Institution Rankings (SIR). “I am grateful that there is good progress. That means the efforts to improve the quality of the research, innovation and its impact on society will continue to increase,” said Prof. Yos, Tuesday (27/4/2021).
Vice Rector for Research and Innovation Undip, Prof. Ambariyanto, added that currently Universitas Diponegoro was entering the 5th milestone in 2021. The long-term Undip development milestones at the 2000-2025 intervals. This year was the beginning of the 5th stage, namely Strengthening the Research University (2021-2025). “Where the research results are not only encouraged for downstreaming, but also for commercialization,” said Prof. Ambar, his familiar nickname.
Scimago Institution Rankings (SIR) is a rating agency based in Spain. It combines three different indicators, namely based on research performance (weight 50 percent), innovation results (weight 30 percent) and social impact (weight 20 percent) as measured by web visibility. .
Positioning the first in the list of the top 20 best universities in Indonesia according to the Scimago Institutions Rankings 2021, the Universitas Indonesia (UI) was in position of 651 in the world. Meanwhile, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) was in the 8th place in the 712th position in the world.
“It is expected that this achievement will spur Undip to continue to improve the quality of the research and innovation, especially those that provide direct benefits to the wider community,” concluded Prof. Yos. (Utami-Humas)
