Semarang, April 2, 2026 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University, held a socialization event on the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) scholarship program from the German government on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), conducted online. This activity aimed to provide comprehensive information on various scholarship schemes for Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) degree programs in Germany for students, alumni, and the academic community of FISIP UNDIP.

The event was officially opened with a speech from the Vice Dean I of FISIP UNDIP, who emphasized the importance of enhancing academic capacity and the internationalization of higher education through access to global scholarship programs. In his remarks, he stated that the opportunity to study abroad, particularly in Germany, is a strategic pathway to strengthen academic competence, research, and international networks for students and faculty members.

The socialization featured a main speaker, Muji Rahayu, who currently serves as the Deputy Director of The DAAD Regional Office Jakarta at the German Academic Exchange Service. In her presentation, she provided a detailed explanation of various DAAD scholarship schemes, including registration requirements, selection processes, available fields of study, and benefits received by scholarship awardees, such as tuition support, living allowances, and access to international academic networks.

In addition, participants also gained practical information on strategies for preparing scholarship applications, including drafting study proposals, preparing academic documents, and tips for increasing their chances of passing the selection. Participants’ enthusiasm was evident during the interactive Q&A session, where students and participants actively asked questions regarding registration procedures and study opportunities at various universities in Germany.

The event began with an opening, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” a photo session, the scholarship program presentation, and concluded with a discussion and Q&A session with the speaker.

Through this activity, FISIP UNDIP hopes to encourage more students and graduates to take advantage of international study opportunities, particularly through scholarship programs from the German government. This socialization is also part of the faculty’s efforts to strengthen the internationalization of education and improve the quality of human resources within the FISIP UNDIP environment.
