SEMARANG (03/31) – An atmosphere of solidarity and gratitude filled the FIMENA Auditorium on the 3rd floor of Building A, FISIP Undip Tembalang Campus, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) hosted the 1447 H Halal Bihalal (post-Ramadan gathering) and Tasyakuran (gratitude celebration) event, marking a significant moment to strengthen silaturahmi (familial bonds) while celebrating a remarkable achievement: its inclusion in the top 400 of the QS World University Rankings (WUR) 2026. The event brought together all lecturers, education staff, members of the Dharma Wanita organization, security and cleaning staff, student representatives from the Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Senate, and other student organizations, international students, as well as retired FISIP Undip faculty members.
In his address on behalf of the Rector, the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., extended his highest appreciation to the entire FISIP academic community. He not only conveyed congratulations on FISIP’s contribution to Undip’s global ranking of 451-500 in the QS WUR but also applauded the achievement of five departments within FISIP in the EduRank 2026 assessment. Amidst his speech, Wijayanto shared four keys to happiness relevant to the occasion’s spirit. He stated, “A fortunate person is one who: 1. is grateful when receiving wisdom; 2. is patient when facing trials; 3. seeks forgiveness when committing a mistake; 4. is forgiving when wronged.” This message served as a reminder of the importance of sincerity within the framework of achievement and unity.
A warm welcome was also delivered by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin. In his remarks, he emphasized that academic success must align with the values of piety, which are the essence of fasting. “The ultimate outcome of fasting is to cultivate piety. And a hallmark of the pious is goodness,” he stated. He further elaborated that a good person possesses three key characteristics: being beneficial to others, exercising self-restraint, and being forgiving. In line with this, the Dean also encouraged increased productivity among lecturers as a key to maintaining and improving the ranking positioning of FISIP’s study programs at the national and international level according to the EduRank 2026 assessment.

The highlight of the Tasyakuran series was the presentation of EduRank 2026 achievement certificates to five departments within FISIP Undip. This recognition served as tangible evidence of the Faculty’s commitment to upholding academic quality. The details of the achievements are as follows: Public Policy/Administration secured 1st place in Indonesia; Political Science ranked 2nd in Indonesia; Business Studies ranked 3rd in Indonesia; and both Communication and Public Relations, and International Relations and Diplomacy each secured 5th place in Indonesia.
As the main Halal Bihalal session commenced, the atmosphere turned more contemplative as Dr. Sos. Drs. Muhammad Adnan, M.A., delivered a discourse on the event’s wisdom. In his characteristic style, he explored the philosophy of local traditions rich with meaning. He explained, “The hallmark of Halal Bihalal in Indonesia is the lunch served with ketupat (rice cakes in woven palm leaves). Ketupat stands for ‘nyapu lepat’ (Javanese for ‘clearing mistakes’), which means we must acknowledge our wrongdoings.” In this context, he reminded the audience that sins against God can be absolved through worship, but transgressions against fellow human beings require more than prayer—they must be resolved through mutual forgiveness. He asserted, “The essence of Halal Bihalal is sincere mutual forgiveness.” This reflection served as a perfect closing, a reminder that behind the glitter of achievement, the true core of togetherness lies in the sincerity to forgive one another.
The event, conducted with solemnity and warmth, concluded with a session of friendly interaction and mutual forgiveness among the FISIP Undip academic community, marking a renewed spirit to continue creating and contributing after Ramadan, grounded in both accomplishment and the values of unity.
