Semarang, February 27, 2025 – The Management Committee of the Darul Ilmi Mosque FISIP, together with the Muslim Student Family Forum (FKMM) FISIP, Diponegoro University, successfully organized a Khataman Al-Qur’an (Qur’an Recitation Completion) and Iftar Gathering on Friday (27/2) at the Darul Ilmi Mosque, FISIP UNDIP. This event served as a moment to strengthen spiritual values and reinforce Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah) within the FISIP academic community.

The event began in the afternoon with the Khataman Al-Qur’an session, attended by students, lecturers, and educational staff. A solemn and communal atmosphere prevailed as participants took turns completing the recitation of the 30 juz of the Qur’an, expressing gratitude and striving to strengthen the spiritual dimension amidst the dynamics of academic life.

The Chairman of the Darul Ilmi Mosque Committee FISIP, Widayanto, S.Sos., M.Si., stated in his remarks that this activity was not merely intended as a ceremonial agenda, but as a space for character and spiritual development for students. “Through this Khataman and Iftar gathering, we aim to present the mosque as a center of civilization, a meeting place for knowledge, faith, and brotherhood,” he said.

In line with this, a representative from FKMM FISIP emphasized the importance of collaboration among student organizations in building a religious and inclusive campus environment. This event also served as an opportunity for silaturahmi (friendship ties) across generations and elements, strengthening solidarity and social care during this blessed month.

Approaching iftar time, the event was filled with a short religious talk (tausiyah) reflecting on the meaning of fasting as a means of building integrity, social empathy, and self-discipline. Precisely at the call to Maghrib prayer (adzan), all participants broke their fast together and continued with the congregational Maghrib prayer.

The high enthusiasm of the participants demonstrated that religious activities on campus remain an important necessity in building a balance between academic achievement and spiritual depth. Through this activity, the Darul Ilmi Mosque Committee FISIP and FKMM FISIP hope that the tradition of Khataman and Iftar gatherings can continue as a regular agenda, strengthening FISIP UNDIP’s identity as a learning space that is not only intellectually excellent but also robust in moral and religious values.
