FISIP UNDIP Welcomes Delegation from Mindanao State University, Philippines, to Strengthen International Collaboration

Semarang, January 21 2026 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), welcomed a delegation from Mindanao State University (MSU), Philippines, as part of efforts to strengthen international academic networking and exchange information on the development of world-class higher education. The visit marked an important moment in fostering international relations and exploring potential collaboration in academics, research, and community engagement.

The delegation was officially received by the Dean of FISIP UNDIP, accompanied by the Vice Dean I and Vice Dean II, Heads of Departments and Study Programs, managers, supervisors, field coordinators, as well as all coordinators of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) at FISIP UNDIP. The presence of the faculty’s leadership and management reflected FISIP UNDIP’s strong commitment to institutional internationalization.

The Mindanao State University delegation consisted of Dr. Annie Mae C. Berowa, Vice Chancellor for Research & Extension; Dr. Monaimah G. Manabilang, Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities; Dr. Rohanifa Mama-Marohombsar, Dean of Education; and Dr. Mirian P. Aman, Dean of Sports, Physical Education & Recreation.

In her remarks, Dr. Annie Mae C. Berowa expressed her appreciation and admiration for FISIP UNDIP.

“We feel truly grateful and delighted to visit this campus. The facilities are excellent and clearly reflect a world-class university. Thank you to the Dean and the entire faculty team for the warm welcome. After exploring the FISIP UNDIP website, I became very interested in learning more about research activities and community empowerment initiatives at FISIP UNDIP,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP UNDIP conveyed his gratitude for the visit and emphasized that it was a great honor for the faculty.

“Thank you for visiting FISIP UNDIP. We regard Mindanao State University as one of the influential universities in the Philippines. It is truly an honor for us to welcome your delegation,” he said.

On the same occasion, the Dean introduced all academic programs offered at FISIP UNDIP and reaffirmed the faculty’s long-term vision.

“FISIP UNDIP has a vision to become a world-class faculty,” he emphasized.

The session continued with a presentation by Vice Dean I of FISIP UNDIP, S. Rouli Manalu, Ph.D., who elaborated on various academic and student affairs programs, particularly FISIP UNDIP’s international programs. He also explained the World Class University (WCU) initiatives and the establishment of Research/Expertise Clusters, locally known as Kelompok Berbasis Kepakaran (KBK), as strategic platforms to strengthen research capacity and interdisciplinary collaboration within the faculty.

The visit concluded with a discussion and mutual exchange of information between FISIP UNDIP and Mindanao State University regarding their respective institutional achievements, organizational structures, and strategic programs. This exchange is expected to serve as an initial step toward more concrete and sustainable collaboration in the future.

Through this visit, FISIP UNDIP reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the internationalization of higher education, strengthening research excellence, and enhancing community engagement, in line with Universitas Diponegoro’s vision of becoming a leading world-class research university.
