SEMARANG (20/01) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) officially launched its 57th Dies Natalis (Anniversary) celebration series by holding a Scientific Oration by its New Doctorate Faculty on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Taking place at the Auditorium FIMENA, Building A, 3rd Floor, FISIP Undip Tembalang Campus, the event, themed “The Dynamics of Social Transformation in the Digital Era: Challenges to Democracy, Sustainability, and Peace,” featured eight new doctoral graduates as speakers.
The ceremony was attended by the faculty’s leadership, including the Dean; the Chair and Secretary of the Faculty Academic Senate; the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs; the Vice Dean for Resources; heads of departments, study programs, and units; along with students and educational staff within the FISIP Undip community.
In his report, the Organizing Committee Chairman, Wildan Avian Pratama, S.AB., M.A.B., emphasized the significance of this moment in celebrating and reflecting on the long journey undertaken by FISIP Undip. He added that this year’s Dies Natalis theme, ‘FISIP Undip Conquering The World,’ reflects the Faculty’s determination to continue innovating and expanding its positive impact. Furthermore, Wildan stated, “This Dies Natalis event aims to appreciate the achievements and contributions of FISIP Undip over 57 years, strengthen camaraderie among the FISIP Undip academic community, foster a spirit of unity in achieving the Faculty’s vision and mission, and reinforce FISIP Undip’s commitment to continually develop and play an active role at the international level.”
Following this, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., in his address, entrusted a strategic mandate to the new doctors. “Today, our task—and the strategic role of these new Doctors—is to realize Undip’s Vision of becoming a World-Class Leading Research University,” he asserted. He detailed nine strategic roles they are expected to undertake: as Strengtheners of Global Academic Reputation, Drivers of Flagship Research Development, Guarantors of Postgraduate Education Quality, Agents of Faculty Internationalization, Producers of Policy Ideas & Public Discourse, Guardians of Academic Ethics and Integrity, Future Professor Candidates, Movers of Digital Academic Transformation, and Ambassadors of FISIP Undip’s Institutional & Academic Identity.
The Scientific Oration was divided into two thematic sessions. The first session addressed the theme “Development and Digital Transformation in the Landscape of Communication, Business Economics, and Culture.” In this session, four new doctors presented their materials: Dr. Agus Naryoso, S.Sos., M.Si.; Dr. Phil. Nuriyatul Lailiyah, S.Sos., M.I.Kom.; Robetmi Jumpakita Pinem, S.AB., MBA., Ph.D.; and Dr. Titik Djumiarti, S.Sos., M.Si.
The second session was themed “The Resilience of Socio-Political Institutions in Facing the Challenges of Modernization, Sustainable Development, and Peacebuilding.” The other four doctors who delivered their presentation were Dr. Phil. Wahid Abdulrahman, S.IP., M.Si.; Nurist Surayya Ulfa, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D.; Nadia Farabi, S.Hub.Int., M.A., Ph.D.; and Dr. Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, S.A.P., M.Si.
Furthermore, the series of FISIP Undip’s 57th Dies Natalis celebrations will continue with the “World-Class FISIP Joyful Gathering” on January 21 and the Grand Finale event on January 22, 2026. Through this Scientific Oration, FISIP Undip not only showcased its latest academic accomplishments but also reaffirmed its commitment to actively contribute to addressing contemporary socio-political challenges in Indonesia, particularly amidst the continuously globalizing wave of digital transformation.
