Sowing Honesty, Building a Business: FISIP Undip Alumni Fajar Gilang’s Success Story in Building a Culinary Empire

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Diponegoro University once again presented a space for sharing inspiration through the FISIP Success Story program, packaged as a talk show and shooting/taping session held at the FISIP Undip Multimedia Laboratory on December 9, 2025. This program featured Fajar Gilang Garnida, an alumnus of the Business Administration Study Program class of 2014, to share his academic and entrepreneurial journey with the academic community, particularly FISIP Undip students.

In the discussion, Fajar Gilang Garnida recounted the background of his choice to pursue Business Administration, influenced by a family environment with a strong entrepreneurial tradition. While still in university, specifically in his seventh semester, he began independently building his own business. His experience in developing businesses in the food and beverage sector through brands like Padangju, Parjo, and Warjo, along with expanding into home cleaning services, serves as a real-world illustration that academic learning can progress hand-in-hand with practical entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, Mas Gilang emphasized that business success is not solely determined by strategy, but also by the values and character of the individuals involved. He highlighted honesty as a fundamental skill often overlooked, yet it is the core foundation for building trust and business sustainability. Additionally, he encouraged students to maintain consistency in spreading goodwill and to remain open to continuous learning. Concluding the session, Mas Gilang conveyed the message that with integrity, patience, and consistency, every individual will find their moment to connect with people who can propel their personal growth for the better, both in their career journey and in life.
