Jepara, November 28–30, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Diponegoro University successfully organized the Writing Camp for Strengthening WCU Paper Output Achievement per Faculty Batch 2 at the UNDIP Jepara Campus. This event was a continuation of Batch 1 and part of FISIP’s institutional strategy to promote a scientific writing culture as a foundation toward becoming a World Class University (WCU).

The event was opened by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., and attended by Vice Dean I S. Rouli Manalu, Ph.D., and Vice Dean II Ika Riswanti Putranti, Ph.D. Batch 2 was participated by lecturers from the Department of Communication Science, Department of Business Administration, and Department of International Relations.

In his address, the Dean of FISIP Undip emphasized the strategic value of the Writing Camp in supporting the broader vision of Diponegoro University:

“Approach this activity with sincere and serious intention. Our scientific writings are an important part of realizing the vision of Diponegoro University. One of Undip’s strategic goals is to enhance academic and research reputation at the international level,” he affirmed.

Vice Dean II, Ika Riswanti Putranti, Ph.D., stressed that this activity serves as an important space for strengthening lecturers’ capacity in international scientific publications:

“This program represents our collective effort in publication writing. May it meet the targets of the faculty and university. It is hoped that this will be regularly implemented in the future. Manuscript practice and submission to international journals are key aspects of this activity,” she stated.

The event was further enriched by the presence of Vice Rector IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, Ph.D., who shared inspirational reflections on the importance of a writing culture in higher education:

“After returning from my doctoral studies in the Netherlands, I envisioned how wonderful it would be if lecturers gathered not only for meetings but for writing forums. Today, I witness that dream realized. This activity is highly strategic for Undip’s World Class University program. Believe me, we can all be productive, and we are on the right track,” he expressed.

On the evening of the first day, participants attended an academic presentation by Prof. Soedharto Prawata Hadi, Ph.D., who emphasized the social responsibility dimension of academic work:

“Scientific writing is a form of our accountability to the public. It serves as a reference, shapes discourse, and upholds the dignity of higher education as a center of thought,” he remarked.

Entering the second day, the Writing Camp featured intensive writing and mentoring sessions. At the end of the day, a progress review of all Research Groups (KBK) was conducted, led directly by the Dean.

On the final day, the final review session focused on refining manuscripts and strengthening subsequent publication plans for each KBK. In Batch #2, 42 articles were submitted, and 25 potential articles are expected to be ready for submission by December 2025. Thus, overall, this activity produced approximately 126 potential scientific manuscripts ready for development toward reputable international publications, with 90 journal articles already submitted.

The KBK Chairs and participants responded positively to the activity and expressed hope that similar events would be regularly held for all departments.

Closing the event, the Dean appreciated the participants’ enthusiasm and encouraged all lecturers to make the Writing Camp an integral part of FISIP’s academic culture. The Dean announced that this program will be conducted regularly starting next year, given its practical benefits and concrete outcomes.
