Semarang, (12/09) – The Public Administration Student Association at Universitas Diponegoro has once again held its annual event, Publikism 2025. Under the theme “Algorithms and Our Public Sphere: Assessing the Progress of Digitalization and Public Governance in Indonesia,” the event served as a forum for discussion and a platform for academic development for students, academics, and the general public.

Publikism 2025 featured a series of events, including a National Essay Competition, a National Debate Competition for the Rector’s Cup, and a National Seminar. The activities ran from August 29th to September 12th, 2025, with participants joining from various regions across the country. In the debate competition, the Grand Final pitted teams from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) against each other. The match was intensely competitive, culminating in Undip claiming the 1st Place title, while UGM secured 2nd Place. This competition not only tested participants’ argumentative skills but also honed their critical thinking and teamwork abilities.

The Chairperson of the organizing committee, Azzahra Ananda Budyawati, expressed her hope that Publikism would become a space for critical and inspirational learning. “We want students to not only understand the developments in digitalization but also to be able to contribute meaningfully to the creation of a more equitable public governance system,” she stated. With the active participation of attendees and the full support of the academic community, Publikism 2025 is expected to generate fresh, beneficial ideas for society and to strengthen the role of the younger generation as agents of change amidst the relentless tide of digitalization.***
