KAZAN (Russia) – Universitas Diponegoro has once again achieved a proud milestone. James William Kusumawikan, a student of the International Relations Study Program at FISIP Undip, successfully secured a place as an official delegate at the III OIC Youth Scientific Congress 2025, following an exceptionally competitive selection process involving more than 1,500 young researchers from around the world.

From the thousands of applicants, only the top 100 participants were chosen by the international committee based on the quality of their abstracts, the originality of their research, and their contributions to global scientific development. James’ abstract was accepted through an official Letter of Acceptance (LOA) issued by the Academy of Youth Diplomacy and Kazan Federal University—marking a significant academic recognition on the world stage for the Undip student.

The international scientific congress, held from October 1-4, 2025, was organized by the Academy of Youth Diplomacy in collaboration with Kazan Federal University, and supported by COMSTECH, ICYF, the Gorchakov Fund, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Throughout the event, international delegates, including James, received full five-star accommodation, VIP hospitality, and direct support from the organizing committee. Participants also attended a series of high-level programs, including meetings with the Russian Minister of Youth, government officials, senior academics, and distinguished international diplomacy figures.

During the scientific presentation session, James delivered his research before global researchers, leading academics, and representatives of multilateral organizations. His abstract will be published in the official international proceedings, contributing to Undip’s growing presence in global academic publications.

“This opportunity is an immense honor, not only for me personally but also for Universitas Diponegoro. Being selected from thousands of applicants and engaging directly with academic leaders and global diplomacy figures is an invaluable experience,” James remarked.

James’ participation is part of Undip’s Students Go International (SGI) and World Class University (WCU) programs, underscoring the university’s commitment to preparing students to compete on the global stage.

His presence as an Indonesian delegate at this world-class scientific forum is expected to inspire more Undip students to take part in international conferences and strengthen Undip’s reputation as a globally recognized university.
