The UNDIP team, Talitha Zarifah Anwar (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Achmad Yassar Dwilaksono (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Muhammad Rizky Andreansyach (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Sabrina Isyaah Saharany (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Hasna Nur Aini Fatihah Rizky (Faculty of Medicine), and Emanuella Sharen Gunawan (Social and Political Sciences), represented their university and Indonesia at the Japan Design Idea Invention Expo 2025, held on July 5–6, 2025, at Bellesalle Haneda Airport, Tokyo.

By showcasing their flagship innovation, SewoApp, the team impressed the judges with a digital vehicle rental platform that offers seamless travel convenience by prioritizing transaction security, user comfort, and environmental sustainability. Its standout feature is the carbon offsetting capability through carbon footprint calculation, supporting eco-friendly mobility. SewoApp also empowers small and medium-scale rental businesses by integrating them into a modern digital ecosystem, expanding their market reach while promoting sustainable transportation.

Their dedication and innovation earned them a Bronze Medal, a significant milestone and the beginning of their journey to scale SewoApp further, both in Indonesia and globally.

The Japan Design Idea Invention Expo brings together inventors, innovators, and creative thinkers from around the world to present breakthrough ideas and designs. This year’s event gathered participants from various countries, creating a dynamic space for cultural exchange, technological collaboration, and the promotion of impactful innovation.

By competing in this prestigious event, the UNDIP team not only introduced SewoApp to an international audience but also delivered a powerful message: Indonesian youth are ready to create solutions for real-world challenges while contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of Sustainable Cities and Communities, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Climate Action.***
