Semarang, September 19, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP), successfully hosted a public lecture featuring Ronaldiaz Hartantyo—widely known as Pak Aldi—Co-Founder and Chief Business Development Officer of MYCL Japan Co., Ltd. The lecture, titled “Turning Waste into Wealth: How MYCL Builds a Business That Saves the Planet”, was held at the FIMENA Auditorium of FISIP UNDIP, drawing an audience of more than 230 participants, including students, lecturers, and professionals from various sectors.

The event was initiated by the Business Sustainability (IGNITE) Research Cluster of the Business Administration Program and organized by FISIP UNDIP, with the aim of inspiring students to explore the nexus between entrepreneurship and sustainability. MYCL, operating in Singapore, Japan, and Indonesia, has emerged as a pioneer in the fashion industry by transforming waste into high-value biomaterials. During his lecture, Pak Aldi shared his experiences in building MYCL since 2014, explaining how he developed niche market products, applied a B2B2C model, and overcame significant challenges despite limited marketing resources.

In his presentation, Pak Aldi also underscored the importance of collaboration between businesses, governments, and academia, highlighting how these three sectors can work together to create sustainable solutions that address global challenges, particularly those related to environmental sustainability. He elaborated on the role of strategic partnerships, which have enabled MYCL to establish a strong market presence despite budgetary limitations.

Beyond discussing business strategies, Pak Aldi encouraged students to remain agile in their entrepreneurial journeys, urging them to view failure as an essential part of the learning process rather than a barrier. He emphasized that adaptability, continuous learning, and resilience are crucial qualities for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The lecture was officially opened by Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, Dean of FISIP UNDIP, as part of UNDIP’s World Class University program under the World Class Practitionaire scheme. This initiative reflects UNDIP’s commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among students. The event served as a powerful reminder that sustainability and business can move forward hand in hand, and that innovation and collaboration are vital in addressing today’s global challenges.***
