Semarang, September 20, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Diponegoro University (FISIP UNDIP) successfully held a music event titled “FISIP Live On Stage: Music Is the Way We Speak.” The event served as a space for student artistic expression and creativity, as well as a celebration of music as a universal language that voices the freedom of expression.

FISIP Live On Stage was presented in an open gigs music concert format, featuring band performances from various departments within FISIP UNDIP. Not only did the event showcase music in genres such as rock, pop, indie, and alternative, it also included interactions between musicians and the audience, spontaneous jamming sessions, and professional stage and lighting support. The relaxed and inclusive atmosphere made the event a gathering place for music lovers from both the campus community and the general public.

The event aimed to provide a platform for student artistic and creative expression while fostering a more dynamic and lively campus environment through music. Additionally, it was intended to strengthen the bonds among students and expand the music community network within the campus. The event was open not only to students but also gave campus bands and lecturers the opportunity to perform and showcase their talents on stage. Ultimately, FISIP Live On Stage is expected to reinforce FISIP’s identity as a faculty that supports creativity, freedom of expression, and a spirit of togetherness through music.

The event featured various student bands with different musical styles. Each performance was enthusiastically received, creating a warm and interactive atmosphere. Beyond entertainment, through the theme “Music Is the Way We Speak,” the organizing committee aimed to remind everyone of the importance of freedom of expression, which today faces challenges, including the recent public debate over the restriction of musical works in Sukatani.

As a new program initiative, FISIP Live On Stage successfully brought a fresh wave to the campus music scene. The event was not just entertainment but also a platform for creation and collaboration among the FISIP UNDIP academic community.

Through FISIP Live On Stage, music once again proved to be a powerful medium of communication, uniting students and lecturers in the spirit of togetherness and freedom of expression. The organizing committee hopes this event will continue and become an annual entertainment icon at FISIP UNDIP.***
