At the beginning of every new academic year, freshmen are welcomed with various activities aimed at introducing the campus environment and building bonds of fellowship. For Christian students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro, this moment is encapsulated in the Welcoming Party 2025 event, carrying the theme “Building New Hope in Christ.”

The Welcoming Party is a reception event for new Christian students of FISIP Undip, organized by the Implementing Unit of the Protestant Christian Student Fellowship (Unit Pelaksana Kegiatan Persekutuan Mahasiswa Kristen Protestan / UPK PMKP). This event consists of a series of programs ranging from worship services, scripture reflections, seminars, and an introduction to the PMKP FISIP organization. Through this series, new students are expected not only to become familiar with the campus environment but also to strengthen their faith and solidarity within the Christian community.

This initiative was spearheaded by UPK PMKP FISIP Undip with full support from the supervising lecturer, Renata Jati Nirmala, S.IAN., MPA. The chairperson of the event is Rachel Pradja Margaretha Situmorang, along with committees from various divisions. The primary participants are 100 new Christian students of FISIP Undip for the 2025 intake, who will become part of the larger PMKP family. The event will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Western Indonesia Time. The venue is the Theater, 1st Floor, FISIP Undip Building.

The reception for new students is not merely a ceremonial occasion but also a platform to strengthen Christian identity and values in campus life. Through the theme “Igniting New Hope in Christ,” taken from Galatians 2:20, this activity emphasizes the importance of living a new life filled with love, sacrifice, and service. The objectives of this event include:

  1. Providing an understanding of the new life in Christ.
  2. Fostering an attitude of mutual respect and support among fellow Christian students.
  3. Building togetherness and solidarity within the community.
  4. Encouraging students to become salt and light for their environment.
  5. Developing Christ-based leadership.

The event will be conducted offline with a well-structured agenda, starting from an opening worship service, a seminar with a speaker, an ice-breaking session, to an introduction to PMKP by the entire board of officials. Additionally, there will be a prayer session, announcements, and documentation. All operational needs are funded through the allocation of the 2025 FISIP Undip RKAT (Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Tahunan / Work Plan and Annual Budget) with a total budget of Rp 3,511,000.

This Welcoming Party is intended to help new Christian students at FISIP UNDIP begin their academic and spiritual journeys with joy, confidence, and new hope. More than just a welcoming event, this activity serves as a means to instil strong Christian values, enabling students to face the dynamics of campus life with faith, love, and devotion to Christ.***
