FISIP UGJ Engages in Academic Benchmarking and Partnership with FISIP Undip

Semarang (24/9) – Efforts to strengthen academic quality and the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education continue to be promoted through synergy between universities. In order to realize institutional visions and missions oriented towards improving the quality of higher education, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati (UGJ) conducted an Academic Benchmarking Visit along with the Signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with FISIP of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip). The event took place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in the Coworking Space Room for Student Center (PKM), Building D, 1st Floor, FISIP Undip Campus, Tembalang.

The FISIP UGJ delegation was led by the Dean of FISIP UGJ, Dr. Hj. Siti Khumayah, S.E., S.H., M.Si., and accompanied by Dr. Khaerudin Imawan, S.Sos.I., M.IKom (Vice Dean I), Dr. Hj. Sri Wulandari, S.Sos., M.Si. (Vice Dean II), and Dr. Hj. Leni Rohida, S.Sos., M.Si. (Secretary of the Public Administration Study Program). The delegation was welcomed directly by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., along with the faculty’s leadership team.

In her opening remarks, the Dean of FISIP UGJ, Dr. Hj. Siti Khumayah, stated that the primary goal of this visit was to deepen knowledge and gain experience from FISIP Undip. “The purpose of this visit is to learn from FISIP Undip and discuss what kind of laboratory is suitable, particularly for the Public Administration study program,” she explained. She added, “We also want to further assess whether the curriculum we provide to our students is already sufficient.”

Furthermore, Siti Khumayah mentioned that the benchmarking focused on discussions regarding curriculum, laboratory facilities, and student activities, both academic and non-academic. This activity aims to ensure graduates can be absorbed into the workforce, while also deepening the understanding of lecturers’ obligations in carrying out the Three Pillars of Higher Education, particularly those related to the implementation of impactful campus policies.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., expressed his appreciation for the presence of the FISIP UGJ delegation. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of collaboration among universities in Indonesia. “FISIP from other universities in Indonesia are our collaborators,” he said. Furthermore, he elaborated on the academic system currently implemented at Universitas Diponegoro, including the use of Single Sign-On (SSO), the application of the Academic Expertise Cluster (KBK), and the World Class University (WCU) program being run at FISIP Undip.

The event continued with the signing session of the MoA on the Three Academic Pillars between FISIP UGJ and FISIP Undip, followed by in-depth discussions with the Department of Public Administration and the Department of Communication Science. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that a strong synergy will be built to support the enhancement of academic quality, research, and community service at both institutions.***
