Strengthening Collaboration for Global Academic Achievement: Unika MAB Banjarmasin to Visit Undip’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences

Semarang (9/9) – In an effort to strengthen academic networks and share best practices towards becoming world-class universities, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) received a Field Study visit from the Islamic University of Kalimantan Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari (Unika MAB) Banjarmasin. The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in the Senate Meeting Room, Building A, 2nd Floor, FISIP Undip Campus, Tembalang, is expected to be a catalyst for enhancing the quality of education, research, and community service at both institutions, while also supporting their respective academic achievements.

The Unika MAB delegation was led by the Dean of FISIP Unika MAB, Dr. Hj. Dewi Merdayanty, S.Sos, M.AP., and accompanied by the Head of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Study Program at Unika MAB, Dr. Iswiyati Rahayu, M.Si., along with several lecturers and MPA students. They were warmly welcomed by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., along with the management team of the MPA Study Program at FISIP Undip.

In his welcoming remarks, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., stated that FISIP Undip is currently focused on developing a World Class University. “Today, the program at FISIP Undip is ‘together in Collaboration and shared commitment to get into the top 400 world ranking’,” he stated, emphasizing that collaboration is the key to achieving that target. Furthermore, he also introduced several flagship facilities within the FISIP Undip environment, demonstrating FISIP’s commitment to providing tangible services to all academic community members.

This visit focused on a comparative study and sharing insights on study program management, specifically the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program. The event concluded with a campus tour to observe firsthand the supporting facilities available at FISIP Undip. This visit not only strengthened the relationship between the two faculties but also served as a strategic step in expanding networks and enhancing the quality of the higher education Tridharma (three pillars: education, research, and community service) implementation for a greater contribution to the nation and state.***
