Ben Connect FISIP 2025: Strengthen Cross-Generational Collaboration to Achieve a Global Reputation

Semarang (29/08) – The Tracer Study and Alumni Unit of the Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dam Ilmu Politik (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), successfully held the Ben Connect FISIP 2025 event themed “Cross Generations, One Reputation, FISIP Goes Global.” This hybrid event on Friday, August 29, 2025, aimed to strengthen synergy between the alma mater and alumni to face global challenges and boost the university’s reputation. The talk show was held offline at the Multimedia Laboratory Room, Building C, 1st Floor, FISIP Undip Tembalang Campus, and online via Zoom Meeting and FISIP UNDIP OFFICIAL’s YouTube account.

The event featured keynote speakers from university and faculty leadership, as well as successful alumni across various fields. Speakers included Undip Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, M.Si., Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity Undip Prof. Dr. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Si., FISIP Undip Dean Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., and Chairperson of the FISIP Undip Alumni Association (IKA) 2025-2030, Yogi Arief Nugraha, S.Sos., M.Si.

In his speech, Yogi Arief Nugraha emphasized the strategic role of alumni in maintaining Undip’s reputation toward becoming a World Class University. He highlighted disruptive challenges in the era of automation and AI, with the World Economic Forum predicting 23-25 million jobs in Indonesia will be replaced by 2030. In response, Yogi called for essential collaboration between campus and alumni to develop reskilling systems and new work ecosystems. “The key to all this lies in how we prepare reskilling systems and new work ecosystems,” he asserted, emphasizing that this collaboration is the answer to preparing superior human resources and national competitiveness.

Similarly, FISIP Undip Dean Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., stressed the vital contribution of alumni as a key indicator in realizing world-class faculties and study programs. He highlighted the faculty’s efforts to encourage close collaboration between alumni and students, especially those working on their theses. “I hope that one thing we pay attention to today is alumni contributions as one of the indicators for achieving a world-class university, world-class faculty, and world-class study program,” he emphasized.

Undip Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, M.Si., in his opening remarks, expressed appreciation and high hopes for FISIP alumni contributions to enhance the university’s global reputation. Although acknowledging that global rankings are a demanding necessity, he stressed Undip’s commitment to pursue not only academic reputation but also tangible benefits for society. “We sincerely hope that FISIP alumni can enrich public spaces, social media, and mass media with genuine ideas that benefit society and the nation,” he emphasized.

The presentation by Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity Undip, Prof. Dr. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Si., reinforced previous leadership statements. He underlined the strategic role of alumni in elevating the university’s reputation through two main indicators: employer assessments (graduate users) and the presence of notable alumni. “We expect each faculty to regularly update stories about their alumni, especially those who have reached a certain level of success,” he said, encouraging concrete collaborations such as guest lectures and community service together.

The core discussion, moderated by Septiana Devi Permatasari, S.I.Kom., featured three alumni speakers who shared their experiences regarding the relevance of FISIP knowledge in their careers. Dr. Tr. Erna Irawati, S.Sos., M.Pol.Adm. (Deputy of ASN Learning Transformation at LAN) emphasized that “Campus provided the academic foundation I needed to build logical reasoning as well as the spirit and ability to grow.” Angga Arrasyid D.P., S.IP., M.Sos. (President Director of PT. Bonalti Wastra Indonesia) shared his journey of transitioning from a politician to an entrepreneur, highlighting the spirit of collaboration. Meanwhile, Gracia Bern Tobing, S.Sos. (SCTV News Presenter and Influencer) highlighted the role of International Relations studies in developing analytical logic and negotiation skills. All three agreed that adaptive skills, networking, and communication obtained at FISIP were key to their success.

From the entire event series and discussions, a strong consensus was drawn that synergistic collaboration among FISIP Undip alumni, students, and academic community is the main foundation for addressing the disruptive challenges of the future. The initiative to continuously strengthen networks, share experiences, and actively contribute to advancing the alma mater’s reputation is not merely a program but a collective movement to to realize a shared vision: FISIP Goes Global.***
