Semarang (April 11, 2025) – Fostering strong interpersonal relationships and contributing positively to the surrounding community are values that have become increasingly relevant amidst the dynamic nature of today’s academic and social life. In recognition of this importance, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University (Undip) held a Halal Bihalal event under the theme “FISIP Undip: A Renewed Spirit for the Benefit of All” on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Auditorium, 3rd Floor of Building A, FISIP Undip Campus, Tembalang.
The event was attended by the entire academic community of FISIP Undip, including faculty leadership, lecturers, administrative staff, and students. Beyond serving as a post-Eid moment of forgiveness, the gathering also functioned as an opportunity to strengthen unity and kinship within the FISIP Undip family. This year’s spiritual reflection (tausyiah) was delivered by Dr. Fahrurrozi, M.Ag, a distinguished academic and Muslim intellectual, who conveyed messages of virtue from both national and humanitarian perspectives.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, emphasized the importance of efficiency in organizational management and the embodiment of benefit in every academic role.
“The best of people are those who are beneficial to others. The best lecturers are those who bring value to their students. The best heads of study programs are those who serve their departments and the faculty. The best department heads are those who contribute to the growth of both their departments and the university. Likewise, the best vice deans and deans are those who benefit the entire academic community and the institution,” he affirmed.
In his tausyiah, Dr. Fahrurrozi called upon participants to foster a sense of pride in being part of the Indonesian nation. He reminded the audience that Indonesia is a vast country rich in diversity.
“Let us take pride in Indonesia — a nation composed of thousands of islands and hundreds of ethnic groups. Demographically, Indonesia is a large and diverse country,” he stated.
He further emphasized the complexity of maintaining human relations, which he argued are often more challenging than one’s relationship with God.
“Both in theory and practice, maintaining relationships with fellow humans is more complex than with God, for God is One, while humans are diverse,” he explained.
This diversity, according to him, highlights the need for collaboration and harmonious synergy through organized community engagement. He also underscored that social worship (ibadah sosial) presents unique challenges, as it relies heavily on good interpersonal relationships.
“Imperfect devotion to God can be compensated with social acts of kindness. But if our social relationships are flawed, they cannot be covered by religious devotion alone. Moreover, accumulated sins before God can be wiped away with a single good deed — but even numerous good deeds toward others can be nullified by a single wrongdoing,” he stressed.
Concluding his message, Dr. Fahrurrozi reminded everyone of the importance of setting intentions of worship (niat ibadah) in every aspect of life:
“Always intend every action as a form of worship,” he advised.
Through this event, FISIP Undip reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a spirit of togetherness, strengthening social bonds, and encouraging its academic community to become individuals who are not only intellectually competent but also noble in character and beneficial to society.
