Semarang, March 17, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) officially launched a new library called FIMEL (FISIP International Madany Encouraging Library). The inauguration ceremony was attended by Undip Rector, Prof. Suharnomo, Vice Rector IV, deans, heads of institutions, and FISIP lecturers.

FIMEL is designed to support and encourage students and lecturers to create productive and innovative works. The Dean of FISIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, explained that the name “Encouraging” on FIMEL reflects the spirit of this library to encourage all academic elements to continue working. Meanwhile, the word “Madany” is inspired by the concept of civil society and Medina as a luminous city, which symbolizes the hope that FISIP will become a faculty that continues to shine in the academic world.

In his speech, Undip Rector, Prof. Suharnomo, appreciated FISIP’s steps in improving academic facilities. “The facilities at FISIP are already very good and of international standard. Now, we need to improve academic quality. I do appreciate this initiative and hope the spirit will continue to be maintained. We must move up the ranks in terms of academic atmosphere and maximize the great potential that exists within us,” he said.

The renovated FIMEL library aims to support students and lecturers in producing international standard papers and helping students complete their studies on time. With this facility, it is hoped that the academic atmosphere at FISIP Undip will further develop and make a greater contribution to the world of education and research.
