Semarang, (11/03). The warm afternoon sunlight lit up the FISIP Undip basketball court, where rows of colorful, vibrant tents were neatly arranged. That day, it was not just a bazaar. More than that, Public Bazaar X Teman Pelita became a meeting place between the spirit of entrepreneurship, social collaboration, and the warmth of the month of Ramadan.
This event was part of an initiative by students of the Public Administration Program at Universitas Diponegoro, specifically organized by the HMPS (Public Administration Student Association) through the Creative Economy Department. The Bazaar Publik X Teman Pelita 2025 carried the theme PROFIT: Public Road to Future Innovator, marking the first official program by HMPS this year to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit among students. The event was designed as a platform for creativity and innovation development, while also building students’ entrepreneurial mindset through hands-on experience in selling and managing a business. The event was also colored by the Ramadan atmosphere, emphasizing the values of sharing and solidarity.
This event was also held in collaboration with Teman Pelita from the Student Welfare Advocacy Department (Advokesma), which conducted a social initiative involving the collection of gently used goods donated by students and lecturers. These items were resold at the Bazaar Publik, and all proceeds were donated to Public Administration students in need, as a form of care and solidarity among students. More than 15 tenants participated in the event, including Public Administration students, students from other faculties at Undip, and local MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). These tenants offered a variety of appealing products, ranging from trendy food and beverages, to handmade crafts and curated preloved clothing in a thrifting concept. Through this event, students were not only encouraged to pursue entrepreneurship, but also to cultivate social awareness, especially in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan.

The event began at 1:00 PM with a committee briefing and technical preparations by all divisions. As tenants began to arrive for registration and to set up their stalls, the atmosphere grew livelier and more enthusiastic. At exactly 3:00 PM, the event was officially opened by the MC, setting a warm and friendly tone. This was followed by speeches from the Event Chairperson, Head of the Student Association, Head of the Public Administration Program, and the Dean of FISIP Undip, who symbolically cut a ribbon to mark the opening. This moment also served as a reaffirmation of Undip’s commitment to producing COMPLETE graduates, in part by creating entrepreneurial spaces like this for students.
Soon after, visitors’ attention turned to the Teman Pelita booth, which stood out with its unique setup. This was where the social thrifting activity took place, showcasing donated clothing from students and lecturers that had been curated and resold. At 3:55 PM, the bazaar came alive even more as Band Publik performed a selection of easy listening songs that perfectly matched the Ramadan afternoon. Amid the music, visitors wandered from booth to booth. Some were buying various kind of snacks (takjil) to break their fast, others shopping for handmade items, preloved fashion, or simply enjoying the vibrant and heartwarming atmosphere. The moment became more than just a shopping event, it became a space for cross-major interaction among students and engagement with the broader community.

A highlight of the event was the announcement of the Best tenants, chosen by the organizing committee in appreciation of outstanding creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The prize presentation was met with cheers and enthusiastic applause from visitors and participants alike. As Maghrib approached, the event moved into free time and a communal iftar (breaking of the fast). The program officially concluded at 6:35 PM with closing remarks and gratitude expressed by the MC to all parties who supported the event’s success.
Bazaar Publik X Teman Pelita was more than just a buying and selling event, it became a growth space where students could learn, network, and create real impact. With over 200 enthusiastic attendees, the event proved that the spirit of entrepreneurship can go hand in hand with social awareness. A simple initiative, yet deeply meaningful for the students involved.
