Munas IKA FISIP UNDIP: Strengthen Alumni Collaboration and Contribution for the Advancement of FISIP and UNDIP

Semarang, February 15 – The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) held its 3rd National Congress (Munas) with the theme “Excellent and United Alumni Toward Golden Indonesia 2045.” During this congress, Yogi Arief Nugraha (alumnus of Communication Studies 1993) was appointed as the Chairperson, and Eko Prasetyo (alumnus of Political Science 1998) as the Secretary General of the Central Board of IKA FISIP UNDIP for the term 2025-2030.

The event aimed to revitalize the organization and align the vision among FISIP UNDIP alumni. In attendance were Wijayanto, PhD, Vice Rector of UNDIP for Innovation, Research, Cooperation, and Public Communication, representing the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, SE, M.Si. The Dean of FISIP UNDIP, Dr. Teguh Yuwono M, Pol, Admin, also attended to offer support and appreciation to IKA FISIP UNDIP.

In his speech, Wijayanto, PhD, expressed his delight at the harmonious and enthusiastic atmosphere of IKA FISIP. According to him, the alumni association is crucial for the advancement of the alma mater and for maintaining synergy between alumni, the faculty, and the university.

“The reputation of UNDIP alumni at the national and international levels significantly influences the university’s and faculty’s rankings. Therefore, the role of IKA FISIP UNDIP in uniting all alumni is highly anticipated,” Wijayanto added.

The synergy between IKA FISIP UNDIP and the FISIP UNDIP Dean’s Office has been highly beneficial to the academic community of FISIP UNDIP. Mangara Pardede, Secretary General of the Central Board of IKA UNDIP, opened the congress and expressed appreciation for the contributions of the PP IKA FISIP UNDIP term 2021-2024, led by Masrokhan Sulaiman.

Masrokhan Sulaiman, the outgoing Chairperson of PP IKA FISIP UNDIP for the term 2021-2024, reported that during his tenure, the implemented programs amounted to more than 5 billion Indonesian Rupiah. These programs included the construction of the Beacon – Alumni Creative Coworking Space (ACCs) and a gazebo on the FISIP UNDIP campus, as well as activities such as scholarships for high-achieving students, seminars, golf tournaments, FisipFest UNDIP, and Alumni Back to Campus events.

The newly appointed Chairperson of IKA FISIP UNDIP, Yogi Arief Nugraha, explicitly supported the university’s tagline of a dignified and beneficial UNDIP, and pledged to support UNDIP in achieving a place among the top 500 World Class Universities (WCU) and FISIP in the top 400 WCU. Yogi Arief Nugraha currently serves as the Chief Editor of Kompas TV Jakarta, while Eko Prasetyo is the Head of the Regulation Drafting and Monitoring Division at the General Secretariat of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of Indonesia. Both have been actively contributing to FISIP and UNDIP in various ways during the previous leadership term.

The congress was officially closed by the Vice Rector IV, who thanked the outgoing board for their hard work and congratulated the new board on their appointment.
