Semarang (10/02) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), in collaboration with the FISIP Undip Alumni Association (IKA FISIP Undip), officially launched the Mercusuar Alumni Creative Coworking Space (ACCs) on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the FISIP Undip Campus in Tembalang. The event emphasized the importance of coworking spaces as a platform for collaboration and synergy among students, lecturers, and alumni in building character and nurturing future leaders of quality. The ceremony was attended by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., along with faculty leaders, heads of department, and study program coordinators within FISIP Undip, the Director of Media Networking, Community, and Public Communication at Undip, Dr. Nurul Hasfi, S.Sos., M.A., the Chairman of the Central Executive Board (PP) of IKA FISIP Undip for the 2021-2024 term, Drs. Masrokhan Sulaiman, MPA, CGCAE., and members of the PP IKA FISIP Undip.

In his speech, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Teguh Yuwono, highlighted that FISIP was ranked among the top 500 globally. He also stressed the importance of coworking spaces as collaborative environments and expressed gratitude for the alumni’s care and commitment to realizing this facility. “Thank you for the alumni’s concern and commitment to provide for us, especially our students, in spaces like this,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PP IKA FISIP Undip, Drs. Masrokhan Sulaiman, MPA, CGCAE., likened the ACCs to a lighthouse that provides direction. “I briefly understand a lighthouse as a tower in a harbour. The lighthouse tower emits light to guide incoming boats,” he explained. He also expressed hope that this coworking space would nurture great future leaders from FISIP Undip.

The launching of the Mercusuar Alumni Creative Coworking Space (ACCs) is tangible proof of IKA FISIP Undip’s commitment, alongside the Faculty, to creating an inclusive and productive collaborative space. With this facility, it is hoped that strong synergy will be fostered among students, lecturers, and alumni to collectively advance FISIP Undip and cultivate future leaders with strong character and quality.
