Semarang, February 4, 2024 – In an effort to enhance academic literacy and encourage productivity in scientific writing, UPT Library and UNDIP Press organized a Book Writing Workshop attended by lecturers and students from various study programs. Among the participants were representatives from the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University.

The Head of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. AP. Dra. Tri Yuniningsih, M.Si, attended the event alongside two young lecturers, Juang Abdi Muhammad, S.AP., M.AP and Nilam Adini Rakhma, M.A.P., as well as two Master’s students in Public Administration, Reski Hidayati and Gandhisa. Their participation reflects the commitment of academics to improving the quality of scientific publications, particularly in writing books and monographs that can serve as important references for the academic community and public policy practitioners.

High Enthusiasm Exceeds Initial Quota

The workshop was initially designed to accommodate 40 participants per class, but due to overwhelming interest, the organizers increased the capacity to 60 participants per class. This enthusiasm highlights the growing awareness among academics and students about the importance of writing skills and book publishing as part of academic development.

The event featured two main speakers, Prof. Munasik and Mr. Suwondo, who shared their experiences and strategies in writing and publishing academic books. They emphasized the importance of a well-structured manuscript, in-depth research methods, and effective publishing strategies to ensure that the books produced have a broad impact.

Enhancing Academic Productivity Through Writing

One of the main objectives of this workshop is to produce books or monographs that can contribute to academic literature in various fields. Participants received guidance on structuring manuscripts, selecting relevant topics, and understanding the publishing process to ensure their works reach a wider audience.

With this workshop, participants, particularly from the Department of Public Administration at FISIP UNDIP, are expected to become more motivated to engage in writing and contribute to the academic world through scientific publications. This initiative not only enriches the body of knowledge within the university but also strengthens literacy culture among academics and students.

This workshop serves as concrete proof that academic book writing is not solely the responsibility of lecturers but can also be an integral part of students’ academic journeys in expanding knowledge in their respective fields.
