Semarang (20/01) – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held a Socialization Event on Research and Community Service Funding Schemes organized by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Undip on Thursday, January 16, 2025. The event took place in the Theater Room of the FISIP Undip Campus, Tembalang, and was attended by FISIP Undip lecturers. The keynote speaker for the event was Prof. Firmansyah, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Chairman for Research at LPPM Undip.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FISIP Undip, S Rouli Manalu, PhD., representing the Dean of FISIP, emphasized the importance of this event in understanding the research and community service funding schemes provided by LPPM Undip. “The purpose of this event is to explore the research and community service schemes offered by Undip through LPPM, which we can apply for or utilize as part of Research Development. Ultimately, the outputs can be used to achieve our Key Performance Indicators (IKU),” she stated.
Furthermore, Manalu explained that starting in 2025, the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) had been aligned with the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) IKU. This means that QS targets are now integrated into Undip’s IKU, which previously only included the Strategic Plan (Renstra) IKU and State University with Legal Entity (PTN-BH) IKU. With this integration, Undip aims to achieve a higher ranking in QS, which will ultimately enhance its visibility and recognition from various stakeholders, both in the industry and academia, both domestically and internationally. This is expected to positively impact Undip’s reputation.
In his presentation, Prof. Firmansyah elaborated on the nine research funding schemes offered by LPPM Undip, including the Young Lecturer Research (RDM), International Publication Research (RPI), High-Reputation International Publication Research (RPIBT), Review Article Research (RAR), World Class University Research (RWCU), Professor Research (RP), Indonesian Collaborative Research (RKI), Publication Acceleration Research, and Cluster/Laboratory Development Research.
During the presentation session, Prof. Firmansyah also opened the floor for questions from the audience. Key concerns raised by the audience included the specific requirements of the research schemes and the procedures for preparing the Accountability Report (SPJ).
This event is expected to serve as an initial step for FISIP Undip lecturers to become more active in submitting research and community service proposals, as well as improving the quality of international publications, which will ultimately contribute to enhancing Undip’s global ranking.
