Semarang (18/11) – The peak event of FISIP Fest 2024 marked a special moment for the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) to strengthen collaboration between academics and alumni. One of the main agendas, the Co-Working Space launch, symbolizes the tangible contributions of alumni through the FISIP Undip Alumni Association (IKA FISIP Undip) in creating innovative facilities that foster student creativity. This facility is expected to become a symbol of synergy between alumni and their alma mater in supporting Undip’s vision as a dignified and impactful university.

The culminating event, held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the FISIP Undip Tembalang campus and the Muladi Dome Multipurpose Hall, also featured a Grand Reunion of IKA FISIP Undip and a Fun Walk. Attendees included Undip’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si.; the Chairman of IKA FISIP Undip, Drs. Masrokhan, MAP, CGCAE; and FISIP Undip alumni from various graduating classes.

In his speech, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., expressed his gratitude for the alumni’s outstanding contributions to campus development. He explained that the co-working space, to be constructed between Buildings A and B, is designed to be non-permanent to maintain the sustainability of green open spaces. Furthermore, he emphasized FISIP’s commitment to being a disability-friendly campus, with connectors between buildings to facilitate access for all students.

The symbolic launch of the co-working space was carried out by the Chairman of IKA FISIP Undip, Drs. Masrokhan, MAP, CGCAE, who officially handed it over to the Rector of Undip. In his remarks, Masrokhan expressed his hope that the facility would serve as a hub for student creativity and innovation. “Hopefully, this co-working space will boost students’ motivation, creativity, and enthusiasm because it offers a collaborative and innovative environment,” he stated. Previously, IKA FISIP Undip had also donated five gazebos as co-working spaces for student use.

Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., praised the facilities at FISIP, even declaring it the best-equipped faculty at Undip. “Among all the facilities available, I believe FISIP has the best,” he remarked. He also congratulated FISIP Undip on its achievement of being ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide according to the QS World University Rankings.

Following the inauguration of the co-working space, the event continued with a Fun Walk, attended by FISIP Undip alumni, faculty members, administrative staff, and students. The route began at the FISIP Undip campus and concluded at the Muladi Dome Multipurpose Hall.

Prior to this main event, the FISIP Fest 2024 series had hosted various exciting activities, including a talk show titled “Rosi on Location: Moving Forward, Starting from Campus” in collaboration with Kompas TV, and a Music Festival featuring renowned singers such as Hivi, Yovie & Nuno, and Happy Asmara.

With the spirit of collaboration between alumni and the Faculty, FISIP Fest 2024 serves as a strategic momentum to strengthen synergy, creativity, and innovation at FISIP Undip.
