Semarang (11/11) – Seeking and applying knowledge is one of the paths to a blessed and peaceful life, as conveyed in various religious teachings. Recognizing the importance of this value, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) began its FISIP FEST 2024 series with an Istighosah prayer and Orphan Care on Friday (11/08). The event took place after Friday prayers at the Darul Ilmi Mosque on the FISIP Undip Campus and was organized by the FISIP Undip Alumni Association (IKA FISIP) as an expression of gratitude and social care.

In his remarks, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., extended his gratitude to the FISIP Undip Alumni for organizing this event. “We are deeply grateful to IKA FISIP for initiating the Istighosah and Orphan Care event as the opening of this year’s FISIP FEST,” He stated. This event is expected to further strengthen the relationship and add blessings to the entire academic community of FISIP Undip. He also highlighted the development of facilities at FISIP Undip, which are expected to support student and alumni activities in a positive direction.

The Chair of FISIP Fest 2024, Mrs. Isdaryati, stated that this year’s FISIP Fest would be held over three days, from November 15 to 17, 2024. The FISIP Fest 2024 program will feature a variety of activities, including an MSME Exhibition, Talk Show, Music Concert, and Grand Reunion, marked by the Launching of the Co-Working Space and a Fun Walk.

The Istighosah event also included a religious sermon by KH. Fauzi Arlan, who shared several important messages. He reminded participants that “the world is a deceiving pleasure.” He further noted, “The world is perishable, and only three types of people will be saved, according to the Prophet: those who remember Allah, those who perform deeds to draw closer to Allah, and those who seek and possess knowledge.” KH. Fauzi Arlan also stressed the importance of faith in Allah’s decrees and the wisdom within His plans, saying, “If you want a peaceful heart, remember that there is always wisdom behind Allah’s decree.” He added, “In this world, if you wish not to experience hardship forever, never stop seeking knowledge.”

After the sermon, the event continued with the distribution of support to orphans as a symbol of care and togetherness. This series of events not only marked the opening of FISIP FEST 2024 but also served as a reminder to the entire academic community of the importance of knowledge, remembrance of Allah, and good deeds in leading a meaningful and beneficial life for others.
