Semarang (06/11) — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held the second session of its 176th Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday (6/11) in the Auditorium of Building A, Tembalang Campus. The event was attended by 150 prospective graduates from the Departments of Public Administration and Communication Science, spanning the doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s programs.

The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, S Rouli Manalu, S.Sos., MCommSt., PhD., delivered three key messages to the graduates. First, she emphasized the importance of hard work, reminding them that skills and abilities only grow through sincere effort. Second, she encouraged the graduates to remain authentic, holding to the principle of “esse quam videri,” or “to be rather than to seem.” Third, she urged them to always do their best and leave the outcome in God’s hands. “Embrace life after campus with optimism, with a commitment to hard work, being genuine, and praying for the Almighty’s blessing on all our endeavours,” she stated.

Maria Gracella Rosaline, a representative from Communication Science, expressed her gratitude and pride for the shared struggles with her fellow graduates, inviting them to make genuine contributions to society and the nation. “Let us prove that we are a generation capable of making real contributions to society, the nation, and the country,” she said.

Representing the parents, Mr. Haryono reminded the graduates that this moment marks the beginning of new challenges. “Today is not the end of your journey, but the start of another path that awaits you,” he remarked, while encouraging them to continue achieving excellence and upholding the good name of their families and alma mater.

The Dean of FISIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, also acknowledged FISIP’s achievements in being ranked in the 500+ range of the QS World University Rankings and its top position in employability. He introduced new campus facilities, such as the PKM Student Co-Working Space and the FISIP Aviary, designed to support academic activities and foster a spirit of internationalization.

This graduation ceremony serves as a milestone for graduates to move forward and make real contributions to the nation, carrying the spirit and values instilled in them during their studies at FISIP Undip.
