Semarang, September 19, 2024 – Detrina Sabda Nugraha, a student from the Bachelor of Communication Science program at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), once again brought honour to his alma mater by winning a gold medal at the XXI National Sports Week (PON), held in Aceh and North Sumatra. In the Senior Men’s Team Karate competition, Detrina and his team claimed first place after a fierce competition against national athletes.

The final match of the Senior Men’s Team Karate event showcased the strength and solid teamwork of Detrina and his colleagues. The Senior Men’s Team Karate squad, part of the Central Java contingent at PON XXI, impressed the audience with their aggressive yet measured attack strategies.

This victory marks an extraordinary achievement for Detrina, as he has consistently represented Undip and contributed to various provincial and national karate championships. In addition to being an accomplished athlete, Detrina is also known for his active involvement as a student in the Bachelor of Communication Science program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro.

Detrina expressed his gratitude and pride in representing Undip and Central Java by bringing home the gold medal. He also hoped that his success would inspire the younger generation, especially Undip students, to always give their best effort.

Detrina Sabda Nugraha’s success at PON XXI is proof that Universitas Diponegoro students can compete at both national and international levels, excelling in academics as well as sports.
