Collaborative Visit by ULM’s Communication Science Program to FISIP Undip: Strengthening the Implementation of Cooperation Agreements

Semarang (08/08) – As a strategic step to strengthen the established cooperation, the Communication Science Program of Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) conducted a collaborative visit to the Communication Science Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip). This visit was part of both parties’ efforts to follow up on the previously agreed Cooperation Agreement (PKS), focusing on the formulation of an Implementation of Agreement (IA) between the programs.

The visit took place on Thursday, August 8, 2024, in the BRM Antawirya meeting room, located on the 1st floor of Building A at FISIP Undip’s campus in Tembalang. The delegation from ULM’s Communication Science Program included Dr. Yuanita Setyastuti, S.IP., M.Si (Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in Communication Science), Astinana Yuliarti, S.S., M.I.Kom. (Secretary of the Communication Science Program), and Sarwani, S.Sos., M.Med., Kom. (Lecturer in the Communication Science Program). They were warmly welcomed by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FISIP Undip, S Rouli Manalu, S.Sos, M.Comm.St., Ph.D.

In her welcoming remarks, Ms. Rouli expressed her hope that this meeting would serve as a platform to discuss further potential collaborations between the two institutions. The discussions held were expected to result in concrete programs that could be implemented together in the future, thereby strengthening and enhancing the productivity of this partnership.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yuanita Setyastuti, S.IP., M.Si, the Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in Communication Science at ULM, mentioned that FISIP ULM had recently established a Master’s Program in Communication Science. She expressed her hope that this visit would provide an opportunity for FISIP ULM to learn from the experiences of both the Bachelor’s and Master’s Communication Science Programs at FISIP Undip. Dr. Yuanita also suggested several potential areas for collaboration, such as online/offline lecturer exchange, as well as joint research and publication based on the expertise of lecturers from both institutions.

This visit is expected to mark the beginning of a closer and more beneficial collaboration between the two programs, aimed at supporting academic development and improving the quality of education at both universities.
