Semarang (06/08) – On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) held the handover ceremony for the Vice Dean positions in the Auditorium Room on the 3rd floor of Building A, FISIP Undip Tembalang campus. This event marked a significant moment in the continuity of leadership within the Faculty, emphasizing the importance of embodying the principles of Hasta Brata in carrying out the duties of the office. Hasta Brata, derived from Javanese philosophy, represents eight leadership qualities that serve as the primary guide for the Faculty’s leaders and administrators in steering FISIP Undip towards a brighter future.

The series of events began with the handover of the end-of-term report from Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs for the 2019-2024 period, who also served as the Acting Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs from January 2024 to August 2024, to Miss S. Rouli Manalu, S.Sos, M.Comm.St., Ph.D., who will serve as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs for the 2024-2029 period. This handover marks the beginning of a new leadership era, expected to bring renewed enthusiasm for academic and student affairs development at FISIP Undip.

The event continued with the handover of the Vice Dean for Resources position for the 2019-2024 period to the Vice Dean for Resources for the 2024-2029 period, symbolized by the handover of the end-of-term report by the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, to Ms Ika Riswanti Putranti, S.H., M.H., Ph.D. This handover process underscores the importance of continuity and sustainability in managing the Faculty’s strategic resources.

Additionally, the event included the handover of the Secretary of the Bachelor’s Degree in Government Studies Program position from Mr. Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., who served as Secretary of the Bachelor’s Degree in Government Studies Program for the 2019-2024 period and is currently serving as Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation at Universitas Diponegoro, to Mrs. Neny Marlina, S.I.P., M.A., who will serve as Secretary of the Bachelor’s Degree in Government Studies Program for the 2024-2029 period.

In his remarks, the Chair of the FISIP Undip Academic Senate, represented by Mr. Dzuwanus Ghulam Manar, S.I.P., M.Si., Secretary of the FISIP Undip Academic Senate, stated that this handover was the result of a process carried out by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Academic Senate regarding the filling of positions. “In the competitive nature of the position-filling process, we can see that this sense of competition does not manifest in daily life. We remain part of the large FISIP family. We remain united, we remain harmonious. And this is a great asset for the next generation of FISIP that every competitive position-filling process can be conducted well. This could even serve as a reference for other faculties,” he said.

Meanwhile, in his address, the Dean of FISIP Undip, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin, advised the Vice Deans and administrators to lead to the best of their ability by embodying the qualities of Hasta Brata. He emphasized that a leader must be like the Earth, nurturing and serving, like the Sun, providing energy and spirit, and like Fire, fair and consistent. A leader must also possess the qualities of Water, which always opens the eyes and mind, and be like Clouds and Wind, which provide comfort. Additionally, a leader should bring tranquillity like the Moon and serve as an inspiration like the Stars.

With an emphasis on Hasta Brata, it is hoped that these new leaders will perform their duties well, maintain harmony in the workplace, and lead FISIP Undip to even greater achievements.
